The Protestant Faith considers the canonical books of the old testament and new testament, the record of the original witness concerning the revelation of God into history. This means that for protestants it is not the bible that saves us but the deeds of God which are described and interpreted in the bible. Protestants do not claim that it fell from hevean. Rather they hold that it is a library of books written over a long period of time and by many different people. Its uniqueness rests in the fact that God inspired the writers of these many books in such a manner that what this book says about man in his relationship to God, God in his relationship to man, and men in their relationship to each other, under God, is true. Protestant claim that God speaks to them authoritativly in the Bible. The Bible contains the History of Salvation. THis means of course that each passage of scripture must be understood in light of all other passages not ever out of context. The Book itself is not an object of worship, but the Christ who meets us in the bible. The bible tells us that God confronts man as a person.
Cannon is a Greek word meaning literally "Rule" or "Measuring rod". These books contain Books Of whose authority was never in any doubt.
The Old and New Testaments have equal status; both are Gods word to Christians, and both bear witness to Christ. They are parts of the same Holy History, both telling of events through which God entered History in order to save man. The difference is that the Old tetament testifies for the Messiah to come and the New testament tells of the Christ who did come.

NASB: For the Son of Man has come to save that which was lost
KJV: For the Son of man is come to save that which was lost.
RSV : does not exists
NIV: does not exists
If it is just translation something will be written there in RSV and NIV right?
Psalms12:
RSV:7 Thou shalt keep them, O LORD, thou shalt preserve them from this generation for ever.
NIV:O LORD, you will keep us safe and protect us from such people forever.
such people or this generation?
Luke 4:8
KJV: And Jesus answered and said unto him, Get thee behind me, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.
RSV: And Jesus answered and said unto him, It is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.
Where is the satan in RSV, NASB, NKJV and NIV, it is omited.
John 4:24
NASB: God is spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.
KJV: God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.
Worship in God or or spirit and truth? or God is a spirit or God is spirit?
Acts 8:37
NASB And Philip said, “If you believe with all your heart, you may.” And he answered and said, “I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.”
NKJV Then Philip said, “If you believe with all your heart, you may.”And he answered and said, “I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.”

Where did those verses go in RSV and NIV? or is it important to believe that?
Colossians 1:14
NASB in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.
KJV In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:
through forgiveness of sins or through blood ? why did it differ?
John 8:9

Where is flesh raising up?

KJV: To the saints and faithful brethren in Christ which are at Colosse: Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
The "Lord Jesus" does not exists in other translations.
Mathew 6:13:
KJV .... For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.
It is omitted in many versions of Bible.
These difference itself show Bible is corrupted or changed in different times.
Is this difference because of translation? different Bible used different sources some went to Septuagint Greek, some to latin vulgate, some tried to recover from the ancient manuscripts of other language (ancient = 5th or 4th century), even there are different Greek or Latin translations, so the Bible today are translations of Translations of translations of different versions of text collected of different scripts.

17 Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them. 18 For they that are such serve not our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly; and by good words and fair speeches deceive the hearts of the simple.
The deceivers were going around teaching a perverted gospel of evil lies about the doctrine of Christ.
GALATIANS 1:7
Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ.
some were perverting the Gospel of Christ, saying they were believers of Christ, but instead they perverted his Gospel into evil lies.
THE ACTS 20:30
Also of your own selves shall men arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away disciples after them.
JEREMIAH 23:36
And the burden of the LORD shall ye mention no more: for every man's word shall be his burden; for ye have perverted the words of the living God, of the LORD of hosts our God.
The children of Israel or Jews perverted the Bible; it is no longer the word of God.

There are 2 Kinds of Manuscripts
Accurate Copies
These manuscripts represent the manuscripts from which the "Textus Receptus" or Recieved Text was Taken
They are the majority of Greek manuscripts which agree with each other and have been accepted by Bible believing Christians down through the centuries. It is from these manuscripts that the King James Bible was translated in 1611
Corrupted Copies
These manuscripts represent the corrupted copies of the Bible, also known as the Alexandrian manuscripts. These mauscripts, many times, do not even agree with each other. The vaticanus and Sinaiticus manuscripts are Part of this group. These are manuscripts on which Westcott and Hort and the Modern versions rely so heavily.
There are 5,309 surviving Greek manuscripts that contain all or part of the New testament. These manuscripts agree together 95% of the time. The other 5% account for the differences between the KJV and the Modern versions.
The Modern Versions had to use the Textus Receptus, since it contains the Majority of the Surviving Greek manuscripts. The problem is that when the Textus Receptus disagreed with the Vaticanus or the Sinaiticus, they prefered these corrupted copies.
That accounts for the 5% corruption in modern versions.
Also According to the copyright Law, new Bible versions can only be copyrighted as derivitave works Words must be changed whether they need to be or not.
There are two basic approaches to translating Formalequivalence and dynamic equivalence. Bibles translated by Formal equivalence will take careful reading, At times you will have to study history to learn the cultural background before you can fully understand the text. The translator is simply rendering the text in your language..nothing more. The KJV was translated this way.
On the otherhand Bible translated by Dynamic equivalence will read as easily as a novel. When a story seems to difficult to understand without a little history, the author may change it or leave it out into a form that the author beleives you will better understand.
The words of the Lord are pure words: as silver tried in the furnace of earth, purified seven times. Thou shalt keep them, O Lord, thou shalt preserve them from this generation forever. Psalm 12:6-7
The overall message is the Same in almost all versions. However. only the Uncorrupted Manuscript from which the KJV originally was translated is authoritative.
the Bible is reliable and uncorrupted. The versions may well be when there is inconsistancies a review of authoritative manuscripts reveal the Truth. This is the same method used when translating any ancient text into another language.

KJV and RSV aer based on the received text then why some verses in KJV does not exists in RSV? And what about the differences and omissions I stated?
