A few minutes ago, I read in yahoo, about the discovery of water on the moon. It was discovered by crashing an aircraft to the craters of the moon and measuring the water that is emitted. A huge amount of water was recorded which made scientist conclude that there is indeed water on the moon. Does this mean that life could possibly exist on the moon or life once existed on the moon? What do you say of this idea that there is water in the moon? Do you believe in it?

Indian scientists first discovered this a few weeks ago and it seems USA followed the research and confirmed it.
I believe it.
There is a possibility for life there.
Our ancient Indian sages referred moon as a water planet( of course its a satellite)
This planet refers to water, liquid, sea travel, imports, exports, mother etc according to them-astrological stuff.

Water yes....life...well, not so much. I explained in my response above why there isn't. But, it does mean there are resources up there to utilize when we start putting bases on the moon. and yes, credit goes to your country, India, for first discovering hints that watwer might exost up there, kudos to you guys for that! Nice work.

I believe it.
I actually heard a LONG time ago about water being found on Mars, as well.. I wouldn't doubt it that life will possibly exist in space, if it doesn't already. I believe that it is definitely accidental if they are finding any sort of survival forms on external planets because unless you circle the whole planet you'll never find it. It could take billions of years before they discover a means to life out there though.

hi there, well i haven't heard of frozen water on moon but yes i have heard about it on mars, well certainly something interesting.. weird i din't know there was something like this even the moon, i guess i will have to check it out sometime.. well for certain frozen water interests all of us - a possibility for some sort of evolution of life.. or perhaps in this vast universe we live in who knows if there does exist another life forms and living quite far away from our planet, after all the universe is so huge who know?

Yes, there is in fact water in frozen form on the moon, it was suspected for a while and finaly proven a few months ago durring the LCROSS experiment. However as far as life goes, the moon is steril, no life at all, except for what ever micro organisms may have hitched a ride with us on our missions up there. but it is doubtfull that even those could survive for long up there. there is almost no air, temperatures are extreme, there is no magnetic field so radiation is a problem too.

I believe what they say they found however I don't know know if that means there is life on the moon right now or that there was life on the moon before. Its all very interesting. Could you imagine if there is life on the moon right now. I wonder what that means for us. Its all so deep stuff and interesting I can't wait to hear what the experts find or think about all this.

Yes I believe as I heard on the news that they discover frozen water on the moon. Just because water was discovered on the moon does not necessary mean there is other form of life there but there could be.

Yes, there is water on the moon. That was a news about 3 weeks ago. The NASA's drill on the moon has brought material from the moon with frozen water on it. There were also some photos taken by the drill and other satellites with the areas, where the frozen water is. And now they have big hopes that they also can find a life on the moon. We'll see !!!!

The moon is very important to earth as it acts a shield for all the huge asteroids and meteors that would not have totally burned up in entry into earths atmosphere , this makes life on the moon to be impossible because it is very frequently hit my heavenly bodies which are destined for earth.
Yes there are minute traces of frozen water on the moon but regardless , nothing can survive on the moon , even if it's terraformed to sustain life , the moon will still be uninhabitable due to frequent hits on it's surface.
Everytime I look up at night and see the moon , I am glad that it's there protecting us from the unseen dangers beyond.
I love the moon. :)
