Do You believe in preventing something from happening beforehand,or would you rather leave it alone for now, then do something about it after the result is apparent?
A Guy I work with was talking about Christmas, and Gifts, and Mentioned His Wife was wanting her Teeth whitened as Her Present..They both Smoke, and He mentioned She prefers to drink Black Tea,which may have something to do with the cause of Her needing this procedure! How about You? any examples of cause or effect in Your life,or in anyone You know?

It doesn't really do a whole lot of good to fix the effects if the cause of the problem is going to continue. Think of a car engine that has an oil leak in it. You have two options in this case. You can get the oil leak fixed, or you can keep having to pour oil in the car all the time. It is usually better to fix the cause of the problem if at all possible. This way, you will not have to worry about the problem anymore...

That's the best way to deal with something that may be a problem further down the line!

Not everything should be prevented, certian things are good enough to experience and learn..rather than hear or read someone 'theorise' on it and 'believe' it.
But then again, I don't mean to say that one should try and experience tings like .. a murder, or rape, or any horrible thing like this
coming to the point of cause and effect cases:
Consider a case where a parent punishes a child physically, or he is troubled because of his uneasy home environments(may be due to any reason..parental problems, traumas accidents) and causes trouble at school. Often teachers ignore this as a 'pointer' to a problematic home background and the child(already labelled as a troublemaker) amy be punished more..the cause isnt fixed.. rather the effect...but its useless this way.
The focus should be always on the roots if anything is to be worked out completely...oterwise we're looking at temporary solutions.

Agreed..the end result of a problem is only fixed on a temporary basis..the cause is still there and will probably strike again..

I would like to cure the cause of all problems. But more often than not it is not possible to eradicate the cause and we try to remedy the effects of the problem. In case of a problem of a big magnitude, it is not possible to get to the root of it , so suppression or removal of the effects is the only way out.
