I was planning to buy a new monitor and it seems that this era, LCD monitors are more popular than CRTs. When the first time I try to use LCD monitor in our office, the color that you can see in LCD monitor is different with the printed copy. Why is it like that? It doesn't seem to me that it's the problem of the monitor's configuration.

LCD is the latest that technology offers, however there are other compatibility issues you need to take care about. Most LCDs greater than 19" (which I assume for you as you are a graphic artist) are of Digital type, they have what is called the DVI connector, but don't worry they also have the old VGA(analog) for backward compatibility. So, If you have a graphics card with DVI in your machine, go for LC else, you could fall back to CRT and save money for the time being.

about VGA: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/VGA

Hello DarkMarixx this is checkmail and me too have an Lcd monitor this time with mine new p4 system.Earlier used to have the CRTs monitors with an system of p2, but the system got crashed, still the monitor is with me.So now have prefered an Lcd monitor instead of the same old monitor, the display and graphics in Lcd monitor is more good than the earlier one.Well there is no pro of color in its display its an compnay designed and we can ask for our prefered display.Am enjoying mine Lcd monitor with mine new system heartfully.Enjoy myLotting.

Hi there!
My hubby is a graphic designer and uses Macs. He has used LED and CRT monitors at work and likes both as Apple seems to have top-notch technology in all Macs.
I asked him the question you posted here and he is saying to me; ask this person if the printer has been calibrated along with the monitor. If you don't understand what I mean let me know and he shall elaborate more for you.
Hope this helps.
