I love nightmares. Maybe not at the moment but after I wake up they're usually my favorite and most interesting dreams to look back at.
My favorite one was when I had 4 false awakenings in the row and I woke up screaming and even a few minutes after I wasn't sure if I'm really awake or I'm still dreaming.
The there was one creepy dream involving Samara, character from the movie The Ring. I was laying on my bad and couldn't move and she climbed on it, and suddenly melted into water washing all over me. That was pretty weird one.
There's also program that claims that could give you nightmares through listening binaural sounds. It's called I-Doser- Gate of Hades. It gets you into half awaken state and raises your body temperature to a fever and you're body feels heavy and it's hard to move. Tried it a couple of times and got some very interesting surreal closed eye visuals while listening but didn't give me any nightmares. Ever heard of it?
Do you like having nightmares? Which one was your favorite? Did you have repeating ones?

hi there... well nightmares, i would not say i like them.. but yeah they are quite interesting i have to say, well there this one day where i dreamed of getting stabbed spontaneously but i don't know how weird it is to dream to die but we don't dream to die.. after i was stabbed there was that blankness of the sleep and then i had some other dream after a while, you know the strangest thing, no matter how bad my nightmares are i don't ever wake up don't know why, i have always heard people waking up with a thumping heart well yeah but that samara! ... yeah dreaming of waking up is really wonderful hehe.. it would most certainly take time to realize what is actually happening when you will have that four times in a row!

Nah, I don't like it at all. The closed eye visuals; I'm pretty familiar with that. Using the ears, sometimes I thought I imagine hearing the rustling of something, but again, I might be wrong. I don't have any favorites definitely.. lol.. but sometimes, I could laugh off certain nightmares long after they have happened.

although my past nightmares have been interesting, they are also creepy because they seem too real that i had to remind myself that it is just a dream. and some of my dreams actually happen a couple of months later. but, luckily, there were my regular dreams, not the nightmares. so, i wouldnt want some of my creepy dreams happening in real life all of the sudden.

So what creepy dreams that could happen in real life do you have?

That's an interesting question, indeed. At first glance my sudden answer was: "Come on, who does?!" but thinking about it, I agree that nightmares are by far the most interesting dreams to look back.
I personally wouldn't feel very confortable with anything interfering with the natural neuronal activity, as the program you mentioned seems to do. I mean, there is some serious stuff going on in our head, why disturbing it?
Anyway my favorite nightmare is a quite simple one: me falling down from nowhere to nowhere. I love that weird feeling I seem to have while I fall, no matter how hard I try to stop it. I usually wake up quite thrilled and amazed.

My falling dreams are always seconds short and it always seem so real. I've heard some people consider them astral travel (out of body experience) but I think they simply occur when you're changing position or you're head just nods off.

Astral travels? Never heard of it.
As far as I know, they are caused by our sense of position going "idle" for a while, so you can't really locate yourself properly until you try consciously to do so... anyway, cutting neurosciences out, the astral travel theory is fascinating!

I honestly do not like nightmares at all! I rarely ever remember my dreams, but the ones I usually remember are the nightmares and usually they are really off the wall. I had one recently that was so vivid that it felt real. I dreamed that our house was being broken into and I was fighting with the guy to stop him. This went on for what seemed like an eternity. I finally woke myself up screaming at him. It was so vivid and scary that the hair on the back of my neck was standing up and I had cold chills. My adrenaline was pumping so much that it took me several hours to even calm down enough to feel like laying back down. I have never had a dream like that and I never want to have another one.

Seems really intense.
I dreamed many times that I'm fighting with someone and sometimes I really felt those punches but it never really upset me after waking up.

I've never dreamed of loved one dying. I don't think I would like those kind of nightmares.

I like having nightmares. It's like taking adventures coz when having nightmares, one fails to tell if he is dreaming. The nightmares I have ever had are usually weird and abstract and always changing from one scene to another(from ancient time to current time, from eastern world to western world).Usually,I fail to remember content of the nightmare I just had but a second ago when in dream,I remembered clearly what happened in my nightmare.
In my view, having nightmares can get you to realize how great our realistic life is and how fortunate that you are not living in nightmares.

You're right.
Things are often changing in my dreams but I've never experienced that kind of big time/place jumps.

No, I HATE nightmares. Mine are always really scary. One time years ago I had this awful dream, where my dad started turning old really fast infront of me until he turned to dust. It was so scary, I still remember it. And I always have these really frustrating nightmares where I'm trying to call the police because something bad is happening(like someone is breaking in or there's some sort of bad guy chasing me) and I can NEVER call them. Something always happens to prevent the call from going trough. Sometimes I can't dial the right number, and other times I dial the right number but there's no answer, and sometimes there's an asnwer but the call gets cut off. Since most of my nightmares consist of the phone dream its not just scary to have nightmares its also frustrating and once I wake up and realize I was dreaming, I get really angry. I wish my nightmares were as intresting as the ones people metioned, then maybe I would like having nightmares.
I have never heard of that program but it does sound interesting.

That does sound a little frustrating. Imagine phone rings while you're trying Gate of Hades
