Is it best to upgrade asap or should I wait until I get a payout and use that to upgrade.

Well I dont do that but I personally would wait until they payout first to ensure they do actually pay otherwise you could be paying your hard-earned cash to a scammer.
Even if they have payment proofs it could be fake ones so you will be better off waiting until they pay you. Its your choice but thats my 2 cents!
