Yes, here the internet is still under controlled. So far I know that Youtube and Facebook are blocked and I can't visit there two websites here. But I try to think the positive way, at least it is better than having no internet at all. I love China

I appreciate your input I'd be thankful to. To at least have some internet rather than none at all.

No, no controlls or restrictions here. I know some countries restrict it to varying degrees. China filters a lot of stuff out and monitors a lot of things. Iran regularly slows down connections and blocks certain sites durring certain times. Australia was considering legislation that would set up monitoring and filtering of certain things. there are always ways around this type of thing though, you can't effectively block the internet, it's to compartmentalized, disjointed and spread out.

The Malaysian government has not created any law on Internet access, even though there had been calls for censorship laws to be introduced. They have a simple reason, saying that the introduction of any censorship laws defeats the purpose of the Internet. Effectively I can view any website. This could be one of the reasons why Malaysian IP address is a favourite among users of proxy servers. Censorship comes from within. Easy access to adult sites does not mean one is compelled to visit the sites. The choice lies within ourselves. As for controlling what children can or cannot access there are various software available on the Internet.
