I like to drink one hot cup of coffee with my morning meal, and I've got to the point where I associate breakfast with a cup of coffee. The coffee tastes good but the need for a hot cup of 'energy' in the morning as really started to take control rather than drinking it for pure taste. Does anyone else do this and with what food?

I drink mainly for the taste- drink many cups of sugarless with very very little milk during the day; at times when I am tired I do drink a cup but just to get a little refreshed.

I drink coffee both for energy and for personal taste. There are times when my body demands for coffee, my head would start to ache and I get a little weak. Thus, I have to have at least two cups (thank god it's only 2 cups now, it used to be more than that) of coffee a day. I prefer it strong and not creamy and not too sweet, but when I have few or no choice at all, like when I am out, I would take it as long as it is coffee. I like coffee and when I smell a good strong cup, I more often than not cannot resist in drinking it. Cheers!

Both some of it tastes pretty good and I also need an energy busrst in the morning, so coffee kind of serves a dual purpose for me. I do enjoy some of it but some is not really good tasting, but I do need the energy burst.

Neither energy nor taste - coffee is a necessity for me. I cant get my mornign going before i drink my coffee. I dont tend to drink too much, because this way you get too used to it, but I cant replace my morning cup of coffee with anything else

Both, i normally always start the day with a cup of tea, typical british person! but the if im really tired throughout the day i'll drink coffee, but when i go to a cafe i always drink coffee because i like it as a drink aswell.

I would say both. I HAVE to have some sort of caffeine to get me going in the mornings. I used to always drink diet coke. But from time to time when I did not have change for the vending machine I would grab a cup of coffee and it over time has grown on me. I really drink it mostly when I need energy to start my work day - or when I am driving between St. Louis and KC to visit family and friends. If I somewhere nice for brunch I will enjoy a nice cup of cofee, or at family function after dinner, all the ladies sit around and drink a cup or two of coffee (usually with baileys or something of that sort added:)

Hi tough tate, coffee is breakfast here and it doesn't need food to go with it, I need coffee to wake me up or I don't feel human, I even set the alarm far earlier than I need to have time to enjoy the coffee first thing without rushing it. Of course it also has that certain taste which only coffee has. I do stop as well when I 'm driving for more than an hour to get coffee to revive me and keep me alert.
