I would like to know what monitor resolution is currently used by the majority.. I am using a LCD monitor with a resolution of 1440x900.. I think 1024x768 would be the most common one but with LCD monitor price drops no a days..I think it would go to what? what resolution are you using right now? Thanks and Merry Christmas! vhinzstrife

I bought my new LCD monitor in January this year. The resolution I have set is 1360x768. I am happy with this resolution. I think either this or the one that you have are becoming the standard for widescreen monitors. I like widescreen monitors because the movie experience in these screens are very good.

I agree. Since I play a lot of games, the widescreen suits better, specially for the first person shooting games. The aiming is so much more better. I do not know about others but I prefer playing first person shooters in a 16:9 screen rather than a 4:3.

well it is the age of 16:9 bye bye 4:3! though at first it was awkward to use 16:9 but after some time Hey it's better and cooler looking! hehe so now i really love 16:9 monitors. =)

Widescreen monitors commonly have 16:9 ratio so yeah it is a good fit for watching movies now a days. =) for games too.

I was recently on 1024x768 since it's sort of easier on my eyes but I just decided to do the transfer, you know. Now I've switched to 1152x864, and it's quite better, deducted the clutter from my start menu and now I can see everything.

hi vhinzstrife I think mine is similar to yours I have a samsung LCD skinny one with a nice big screen whereas my old one was bulky and clumsy with a little bitty screen. this is three years old and the screen is much bigger than my clunky old one.I think mine is 1440 by 900 too but am not sure , this seems about what my son said when he gave it to me for Christmas three years ago.

you might want to buy atleast 19 inches if you are a gamer. =) but it would still go down to your pocket... Asus, Samsung, LG, Viewsonic...Vertu and Dell. i prefer Asus or Samsung. =) now a days it's good to have a 16:9 LCD ratio coz a lot of movies use this ratio.

I agree with you, with the recent increase in the flat and wide screen monitors the resolutions change. And keep changing until, there is a definite fixation in the size of the monitors. Am having a 18.5 inches wide screen monitor, and I let windows choose the best resolution for me, which is 1280x720.

I have seen some surveys and said that the next common monitor resolution according to price would be 1280x1024 from 1024x768. well it's Christmas and some PC owners will upgrade their monitors and such! =) goodluck!
