WHO: smoking kills 5 million annually

The WHO says that smoking is killing at least 5 million each year if countries don't take the strongest measures to combat smoking. 95 percent of population is non-protected by laws banning somking. WHO says second hand smoking kills around 600,000 people each year.

It is so terrible.It is the time to take some useful measures to fight aganist it.As long as we unite together ,we will gain improvement gradually .

yeah, that's why I refuse to take a taxi whose driver smoke in the cab or I demnd him to smoke till I get out of the cab.

Yes and smokers neglect anything about this. According to the doctor your life going to be shorter by 10 years when you start smoking. I hate also smokers because they harming other people aside from themselves. It contains a lot of harmful chemicals but smokers don't mind it at all.

It is sad to say that our society is keeping a close eye on this issue. It seemed that smoking has been deeply ingrained in society's habits already that no one seems interested to stopping it. There are many attempts to discourage many from using it but no one dares to stop the users fro using it. First of all, we should be aware that this is a multimillion industry and putting them down would just be detrimental to governments as well. Putting them down would mean losing of jobs to thousands and also losing government taxes on these products. I think the casualties will keep on increasing if no one is able to stop them from proliferating.
