What Irritating Technicalities Have You Encountered When Booking Travel Tickets?

My husband and I are going to Toronto on the 25th of December, to celebrate Christmas, just the two of us, in our favourite hotel. I decided to book the tickets on my credit card, because i wanted the Airmiles, which we're saving up for a future vacation we're planning to take. I called the station, and since it's getting close to our travel date, I oped for "Will Call." I booked one ticket in my name, and one ticket in my husband's name, and paid with my card. Unfortunately I learned AFTER booking the tickets that only *I* could pick them up, because I am the credit card holder. What I had wanted to do was send my husband (the other traveller) to the terminal, to pick them up.
Because of the poor weather, it will be impossible for me to get to the terminal, unless I take a cab. Sure the ride will be cheap, because it's only a few blocks from here, but it would have been much esier for my husband to just go down there himself, since he can walk further than I can, and can navigate better in the snow.
So, have you encountered any irritating technicalities, when booking travel tickets? I'd love to hear about them.

Just the lovely new $25 fee (each way) when sending an unaccompanied minor. Stupid, you ought to be able to authorize him to pick them up in some way. On the other hand, why pick do you have to pick them up in advance? Why can't you just wait until you're actually flying?

I think "will call" means that you can even pick them up on the day, but call them and see, they may have a machine that does it (heck, they have a machine for will call tickets at my favorite MOVIE theater!) all he has to do is put card just has to be your card

It drives me nuts that some airlines charge extra fees for your baggage. It also drives me nuts that they can be fussy about the credit card used - I've had my mom book tickets for me in the past and paid her for them becuase i choose not to have a credit card. Luckily airlines do e-tickets lots and i havent had that issue YET

Nothing major, we flew my MIL out for two weeks and when we took her to the airport they have those self manned kiosks that you check your stuff in with. It was kind of a hassle because its been used so many times that it doesn't work as well. We couldn't go with her to the plane because we didn't have boarding passes which caused the grandkids to cry.
