Third time lucky, the other 2 were rejected. I will keep this brief. Do you like ironing and would you like more time to do it in? I am lucky in the fact that I do not work so I am not tired when I actually start the ironing. If I was working, then had to iron I don't think I'd be as enthusiastic about it. How about you? What is your current situation regarding doing chores or do you spend too much time on MyLot hehe lol. :-)

I like ironing but i love doing the laundry most. i admire my husband so much for being a good "iron man". he is the best in ironing pants, uniforms, polo shirts and clothes for the office. i love it when he irons my clothes. well done--unlike me no good LOL. that's how we share domestic chores!

Hi there!
It is great when you can share chores like that. Men seem to have more patience when they iron garments...especially their own hehe lol. My Dad really presses on when he irons, it's fascinating to watch him.

I can't iron either...It looks simple enough, but when I do it the scrunched up shirt still looks scrunched up!Is there a secret of something? something to do with the brand of the iron?
I've tried to use water and the streamer function on the iron, but I still get exactly the same results!Man I really hate ironing,so I avoid it when i can and get my mom to do it for me.

I must admit, I don't like ironing shirts either. Luckily for me hubby has the "No Iron" variety which he only wears on special occasions anyway. The rest of the time he is...well, casual in his choice of clothing. It is usually my tops that need the most ironing. Some people will spend a fortune on a decent iron with loads of steam coming out of them continuously. My iron is the bogstandard variety that does the job relatively well but I only use the steam function when I have a particularly stubborn crease I can't iron properly unless it's with the steam!

hahaha I am not a fan of ironing...whenever I'm home visiting and something needs to be ironed because it was in my suitcase, my mom will iron it for me...or I'll just throw it in the dryer to get the wrinkles out.

That is a very good point you make about the dryer. Mum has an extremely good dryer and the result is she has a lot less ironing to do than me. Ours is a washer dryer which is very good but the newer ones have a bigger drum. It is hard trying not to overfill it otherwise I end up ironing practically everything! Not good!

I hate ironing and will only iron what needs to be done. I blame my Mom for this, she ironed everything and I mean EVERYTHING, underware, towels, beding, even the curtains!!! Sunday evenings were her big ironing time, getting school uniforms ready for the new week, she would stand there for 2 or 3 hours ironiong away, I think it was some sort of mediation for her!!

I think your Mum must be the most dedicated ironer (if there's such a word) in the whole world! Wow, fancy ironing curtains and underwear lol. I do iron duvet covers sometimes...but only when I'm in the mood and I certainly don't iron towels. I must admit though, Mum always made sure I looked good in my school uniform because her own mother didn't wash at all, bit neglectful that way. If Mum wanted her uniform done she had to handwash it herself which couldn't have been very nice for one so young. This is why she made sure it was the opposite for me and my brother. Such a great Mum...and still is! :-)

I hate ironing and have managed to find a way of getting by without doing it. When I've done the laundry, I pull everything out of the washing machine and give each thing a really good shake, then fold in half and dry on a clothes horse. That way, the creases seam to just fall out, but it doesn't work for cotton things, so I don't buy cotton things. In the past when I used to have to dress smartly for a job I then had, I'd even been known to go out and buy a whole new wardrobe of clothes just to avoid doing the ironing. Lazy, I know!

Hi!
Many thanks for your entertaining post! It sounds quite practical to me, actually, to try and buy garments you don't need to iron. Mum does the washing for my brother and he brings along his work clothes. She has a huge washing line (which I am very envious of) in her back garden that she hangs all the clothes on. Anything that she thinks looks a bit dodgy she will put in the tumbler or hang up above her fire on the curtain rail, would you believe! Seems to work too! I know what you mean about cotton clothes, they do tend to crease up more than the man-made things. My hubby has a lot of football (soccer) tops that are brilliant for washing as they are man-made and never crease up! I use the clothes horse in our house more at this time of year as none of it would dry outside. :-)

I like ironing, when my partner was pregnant both times she took every single items out of the drawers and wardrobe and ironed it all it took her all day! Both times! I like to iron buyt she prefers to do it than to let me do it! I have no idea why that is!

Some people can be quite possessive over the ironing and I can't understand it either! My hubby will iron for me at weekends sometimes which is really sweet of him. Before he tackles it though it's all in a huge pile on the chair, all screwed up! That bit annoys me but I keep my emotions in check lol.
