Hey everyone! I went from 135 to 115 in 7 months! I reached my goal weight and I never have felt better!
Most of you are probably wondering how it's possible, and i know this because I tried for lord knows how long.
Basically it's watching your calorie intake. However, that's very hard for someone as lazy and as busy as I am. I admit my priorities were never in the right mind.
BUT! I decided I wanted to be healthier and make neccesary sacrifices so what I did was these things:
* Instead of going out to eat for lunch everyday, i load up on Healthy Choice or Lean Cuisine TV dinners (they're usually about 300 calories each) (it takes a while getting used to such different portions, so eating a small snack of like those 100 calorie packs of popcorn helped curb my appetite until dinner)
* I started the Wii Fit and then I did stretches at work (I only did the Wii fit for about 2 months before the lazy took over, but by that time I was in eating healthy mode. the excersizing really kick started my weight loss and motivated me!)
That's it! For dinner I would eat Subway or eat something at home, but surely I would watch my PORTIONS. Instead of eating a foot long from Subway I'd eat a 6 incher.
It happened slowly but honestly I think that's healthier than trying to lose weight fast, and I feel great, look great, and couldn't be happier! Hope everyone else gets some inspiration!

Congratulations. I started Weight Watchers probably about the same time you started dieting. I started mid-may. So far i have lost 21 pounds. I still have a ways to go to hit my goal though. I would say about 60 more pounds till I'll be in the healthy weight range for my height. After 3 kids the pounds just came on and stayed on. I like weight watchers because it is easy to follow. I don't have to count calories, all the food is assigned a point value and i have a certain number of points i'm allowed each day.

I lost 45 pounds in 2 months, mostly through excersize (like going to a gym and getting an hour of cardio everyday) and also through diet, but not drinking soda, only water, and eating healthy. You'd be better off making yourself a sandwich to bring to work because those microwavable meals really are not that good for you. They're loaded with sodium and processed crud that is extremely unhealthy.
It's good that you've lost weight, but 20 pounds in 7 months seems like an extremely slow way to go. I lost 10 pounds in my first week that I began dieting.

Different experts have different ideas of what is healthy and what is not. I have not yet seen or heard of actual PROOF that losing more than 1 pound a week is unhealthy. As far as flabby skin goes, it depends on your genetics and how much weight you're losing. For some people they'll have flabby skin regardless of how slow they lose the weight.
As far as the sodium goes, it can be very harmful regardless of your fluid intake. Too much sodium leads to high blood pressure, and a huge array of other cardiovascular problems.

actually, for the healthy way to lose weight you should lose 1 - 2 pounds a week, more than that can be unhealthy, and also give you cause for flabby skin. If I had lost one pound a week on my diet I would have lost 28 pounds, and since I weight myself in at 112 last week that means I actualy lost 23 pounds, which is not that bad not that bad at all. I'm really proud of myself and I'm confident that the weight will stay off this time Because I've changed my lifestyle. And as far as the sodium goes in the TV dinners, drink enough water and it gets flushed right out of your system. The main thing is that you eat less calories than you burn everyday and the weight drops from there, it's what worked for me!

Congrats on the loss. I have been watching my calories and it took me a long time to get to the point it was habit. I am not as undercontrol as I should be but the scale is going down. Its a lot like work though. I know I need to workout more but progress is progress.

that's pretty much exactly what I did untill i hit the goal. As I got closer to the goal though I was more motivated to keep it up, and I did, and it's wonderful!

well done!!!! i've also lost a lot of weight in the last yr as well. i was 78/79kg at the start of the yr, then started walking and using the ab king pro. weight didn't move fast but cm's did, i'd sorta lose a few kg then stop then lose some more. i'm not down to 66/67 kg. that's with mainly walking, and a few other excerises. i'm eating less, and smaller meals as well. we all find something different that helps us lose weight, it's no one thing work for all of us. i also find a good way to see your progress is to put something on that used to not quite fitted u, and she what it looks like.
once again well done, and i hope you keep going well.

Thank you SO much! I'm glad you found a system that works for you as well! It just goes to show that the slow progress is more permanent and works better than the fast progress weight loss systems!

Good going! I really need to do this myself as I have about 80 pounds to lose to be in the healthy weight range. I have a Wii Fit and I think I am going to start using it to help me losing the weight. How many hours a day were you doing it? I am planning on buying the Wii Fit Plus software for it.
I think I will start in on January 1st as I know I will be eating rich foods for the Holidays.
Anyways, thanks for your story - it is great encouragement and inspiration to us all out here.

I spent 30 minutes on the Wii Fit 3 times or more a week for like 2 or 3 months before my lazy kicked in and I stopped, but with having done that I had kick started my metabolism into a really good range, and also by that time I had gotten used to the new lower calorie food intake and so it was sort of a snowball effect of losing weight. I'll tell you now, that my weight loss slowed significantly when I stopped excersizing.
The activities that I did on the Wii fit were the Hula Hoop, and ALL the Yoga poses, and the boxing one was also a good one for me. Just those ones were all easy and relaxing and the great thing about the Wii was that is tracks your weight and gives you fitness tips to keep you motivated! I loved it and I recommend it to everyone!

Good for you. I wish I could do that. I am trying to cut down my portions as well, but it is really difficult when you are hungry to eat the portions that you should. I like sugar free jello. It is a nice adjunct when you are busy. I think it works well.

Something that I found that worked for me was small snacks in between meals that I "weaned" myself off of! Like my TV dinners were so small that I found myself to be STARVING untill dinner so I ate popcorn in between to tide me over. at home, I ate string cheese or ate popsicles to give my mouth something to do instead of chew junk food!

Yes, I think that's a great way to lose weight. You can still eat some of your favorite foods and meals if you are portion conscious. Most of us tend to really eat more than we need.
When you decrease your portions and concentrate on the actual taste of the food you will enjoy your meal more and cut calories.
Losing weight slowly means you have a better chance to keep the weight off. It has worked for me.

YES EXACTLY! ANd also I didn't kick myself or punish myself if I overate (I mean, it was THANKSGIVING for goodness sake!) I just went with it and didn't let myself do that but once a week IF AT ALL, and it just worked! I think the part that worked out the best was that I decided tht I was going to LOVE the way I looked instead of hating it. My body just sort of got better with that TRAIN OF THOUGHT

you CAN! the only thing it takes the DECISION to do it! Once you make the decision to ACTUALLY do it and ACTUALLY stick to a routine and keep up with the weight loss and not give up, and not get discouraged if you gain a couple pounds before you lose more, it's completely do-able!

well like I said instead of eating out or buying junk food I bought Healthy Choice or Lean Cuisine TV dinners. Also I did stretches to make my body more flexible, which actually kick started my metabolism! Then I also did the Wii Fit (mostly just the hula hoop and jogging) and that boosted my metabolism to where it needed to be to where I was burning my excess fat instead of storing it. Also, since the TV dinners have so much sodium in them, i took some vitamins to flush that out so I was just getting nutrients! Worked like a charm!

HI. Congrats. You've been stuborn and your stubbornes has repaid. I think that the key to success in diets is determination and strong will. While you had that it doesn't really matter what diet you will start. There are like thousands of diets out there, many of them are not even healthy. But you've reached your goal and you feel great! Whats better than that

Hi dreemsofdark
Twenty pounds more or less either way you are beatiful.Congratulations, it seems there were 7 months of hard work.
You know my brother did the exact thing you do, he counted his calories, started to eat more healthy(at the point he eliminate sugar from his food, dunno really understand why), and also he began to exercise almost every days. It worked from him and he is more skinny now.
