Its funny (this is not a racial topic) but we here in the Philippines has very sensitive nose.
We always smell people by race literally.
Example.
If your Chinese you smile like this.
If your Spanish like this, and Indians like this, etc..
...
I think its because of the food we eat that give us a distinct smell.
Like me I'm a Filipino and I smell like roasted pig..lolz..
how about your nationality..what distinct smell do you have?

I guess I don't know what I smell like! That could be good.. could be bad! I hadn't ever thought about it though. I am a mixed bag. I think I am mostly Irish.. whatever they smell like! Guess that might be the ale! Then I have some native american in me too, a little bit of English blood and who knows what else! I don't know which I would smell like! Any suggestions?

Can't think of a smell that I'd associate with that mixture but "Lady Guinessippi" springs to mind ('Mississippi' being a Native American word ... the rest is obvious!)

Actually we are immune to our own smell..lolz..thanks God for that..lolz
The most you can ask about your smell is when you went to another country.
Just try to visit a minority in your place..Like china town. Or any minority..
And try to mingle with them..If they new to your country try to smell their coats..
(but don't do it obviously) lolz..
You will notice a distinct smell.lolz..
I been in many places outside our country and that what I notice.
..
Or maybe I'm just attentive to details..lolz

I don't know why us Filipino is very sensitive to the smell of other nationalities. Other nationalities have different smell like you said I think it is because of the food that there eating. I don't know but I think we always like "Pintasero" criticizing other nationalities.

That's crazy...I don't have a sense of smell, so I can't say. I was born without it, I guess it's called anosmia. It sucks, because I have no idea what anything smells like.
It's weird for me to think that different races have a different smell, it just doesn't make sense. I wish I could smell so I knew what all the different people smelled like, haha!

Yeah...how about your taste? Cause I think smell do help a lot if you like food.
We have tried an experiment in elementary if food taste different if you cover our nose while eating..Some say it don't make a difference other say it does..

Well, if I plug my nose and eat something it doesn't effect the taste at all. I can taste, and I think i can taste just fine. But, I never have been able to smell, so I can't really say how much it effects what I taste. I'm sure it does effect it some, but I have no idea how much.
I like really spicy foods, I can taste all of that stuff.

indeed! i believe that filipinos have very sensitive noses. i am a filipino too. i considered myself having one :) actually when i was still back home, i always smell like a baby powder (tnx to johnson's and johnson's) coz, 'twas hot and u can feel the sweat runnin through ur body. i put powder so that i couldnt have the sticky feeling. ahaha. plus the fact that oh my, the funny smell when ur sweat has dried up. well, can't blame nybody coz PH is a tropical country. HOT is a very popular word for us. speaking of Chinese peeps, yeah they have this funny smell, if u have ever been to chinese store or to this Chinese places, it smells like medicine, candles, somethin like that. smells like herbs, you know what i'm sayin? smells weird, for real :D and i don't like that kind of scent actually. Spanish people, umm i know some mexicans, but i couldn't try to figure out what kind of scent they have. i know they love spicy foods. i know one mexican and he smells nasty, no offense to mexicans out there but i am pertaining to one person :) ^_^v
americans smell good. idk why but maybe because they put too much perfume/cologne on their bodies :)

Interesting topic. Personally i have a sensitive nose. I usually feel iritated if i smell something not normal whenever i go places. One time in a crowded elevator i almost throw when i smell the most horrible smell in my life. Luckily the Cute lady beside me gave me her spray of her perfume and it help to relax my nose. When we go outside she said that she's the one taht fart at least two times in the elevetor.

It is a new information to me that people of Philippines have very sensitive nose. I will get a sensitive nose only when I am sick or if I have cold. I don't know what is my smell. Poeple who interact wtih me can talk more about that. I think mostly the smell of a person is the smell of his perfume or sweat. If so, my smell is the smell of Chrlie white, the Revlon perfume. Lol.

haha...hello bulastika!
i very well understand what you are trying to say here!
coz im guilty of using those terms to address someone...like 'nah you smell like this or that nationality...' when actually what i am trying to say is that he actually smells like onion... but its just during those joke times...
well with me, i think i would say that i smell like 'pinipig' haha just kidding!

I agree bulastika, we all have our own distinct odors, otherwise dogs wouldn't be sniffing so well. :) Jokes apart, what we eat possibly creates specific type of odors which, because we are constantly eating such food, and so do our neighbors, and friends, we have become immune to. So I cant possibly identify my/our smell. :( I need somebody else to tell me how I/we do. :)

This is such a funny topic , i dn't know how i smell like i would love to meet a Philippine to know how i smell like...lol well seriously if you can smell the people and can tell that they are from which country then it is very great and unique feature in you provided by god. I really appreciate this and can you just compare the smell of Indians with anything? what if a person is using perfume? then also you can identify that this person belong to which country

I don't think Americans have too distinct of a smell (I sort of imagine we smell like french fried--or maybe that's just my dream), though I have had a lot of people tell me that they are surprised that I never smell bad, even when I'm very sweaty (even though I respectively disagree with that statement!)

hi bulastika, im filipino too but i dont smell like roasted pork. MAybe you dont get to shower or wash hands after eating or cooking your roasted pork thats why you smell like that. To avoid unwanted smell to your body, make sure to shower and wash hands, and avoid too much spicy and seasoning to your food, it will make you smell awfull really when you sweat.
