Have you ever have this aching inside you wanting to help someone? Actually, I have that urge to help other people. But you see I am not a millionaire,so I don't have any means. but nevertheless, if I would be given the chance to help my fellowmen and the poor, I will do it.
My question now is, if you were given 100,000,000 million dollars by a wealthy philantropist, on his dying bed, telling you that it must be spent on a worthy cause, a charity or anything that will help alleviate the suffering, how will you spend the money and what cause will you give?
If that were me, I will buy a piece of huge land near my place, put up a housing village for the poor, and help them fish by building a cooperative. Then from there, build a library and a school, and good facilities to help them build up their lives. Deserving families will be chosen to live in the place, someone who has served as an inspiration despite being poor.

I would put half of it to emergency fund, in case any region suffer from natural disaster, they can use that fund's money for rescue mission and buy essential material for those people.
The other half, I want to put to the research and manufacture of Noah's Ark... as you know, the year 2012 is coming soon, so we'd better do something to prepare for that.

I will try to spend it many rightful ways I would come up with after a thorough brainstorm. One would certainly be creating more awareness about population control which is an immediate need for our country at present. Then I would like eliminating poverty in certain handpicked areas of my state and employ cleanliness measures for a healthier city life. Then I would set up an anti-corruption NGO with a strong base of volunteers and paid officials having a deeper sense of morality and social responsibility. Then I would also touch the education sector and try increase the literacy rate by providing quality education to students economically. $100,000,000 million is a massive amount - there would be so many plans, and I would be surprised if my head didn't blow up out of ambivalence.

You are so right to say that the money must be spent wisely and the appropriate plan be implemented. I like the idea on an anti-corruption NGO. I am also an advocate to improving the educational system because children are the future of the country, what future will they get if they get poor education from a school that has a poor curriculum? Thanks for posting!

if i were to have that money then i would distribute half of the money to all the poor ones who strive hard to have a meal and then i would invest the rest of the money to start a business and employ the worthy ones so i can mae more profit(double the amount) and then would donate it to all who suffer from heart diseases mainly those small kids who were born with health ailments and caring centers who take care of blind ones.
I would invest half of the amount in business coz i get to make more profit which means i get to help throughout my life steadily rather than spending the entire amount at once.gud day.

Wow, that is very very awesome. Having a business will earn you income and at the same time, help a lot of people get decent jobs. And I like the idea of giving it to an orphanage as children are the future...

100 million dollars is too much for what what you intend to make! You could better use it by giving it to non government agencies!

I intend to put a community first, and place deserving poor people who serve as inspiration to others. Then from there, build a school that has the technology to help the children learn like the Internet, nice flat screen computers. Then from there, put up a cooperative that these people have to maintain so that they will be self sustaining and won't rely on dole outs. Then, they can also manage a some sort of cooperative hotel wherein they are the ones managing it. Then, scholarship grants will given to deserving students coming from these sectors. And also, help put up business and management and leadership seminars to empower the people. I still have a lot of ideas on how the money will be used, but so far, these are what I deem to be the important. The 100,000,000 million dolllars goes a long, long way.

Actually you do not need that much money to really help someone. All you need is a passion and an action to your desire. If you know how a man from Cavite named Efren Penaflorida, passionately pursued his dreams of helping street children from getting education. He started from almost nothing and made it to stardom after being a CNN hero. He did not have that much money to really aspire but because of his dedication to what he was doing he was able to raise funds for his projects.

hi lizbenetua hi again. if I had one hundred million dollars I would help the homeless of southern California to get in to the jobs that I would set up for them, and then persuade apartment managers to allow these people who now have jobs to rent their apartments at a little lower price, and not charge for last months rent or security deposit until they have had at least four pay checks.then I would see that a fourth of the last month a nd of the security deposit would be added onto the next four months rent thus helping the newly employed to get a good start at life again. Whatever it took to make these jobs, I would do it, whether starting businesses or buying out businesses and getting jobs for all I would do it.

That is a very noble cause that you are doing to help the homeless. My heart aches for the homeless people and I would love to do that as well, that's why I wanted to buy a huge urban land so that these people won't have to travel far away just to get to their work. That is the dilemma of poor people here, they have to work so hard for the money, and they also live so far away from their work.

For me if given a chance; my first priority are those people in that street. I buy a good location that they live with dignity. Give those particular property as their own...provide a good jobs in their and make sure they are not complain about the place...All people suffering from poverty I will gather them there to live a good life...I don't like to give those poor in the street a sort of food or money but a long lasting living that they enjoy a good life..Because if you give them money, food and everything at the end of the they being back as a poor and no foods to eat...My solution is long lasting and no one can be poor or rich in that place I have given to them if given a chance.
I don't like also to donate to the orphanage or any organization because those organization give only a little to those needy and that is lasted one day only...It's better to give a life that they feel became human than to treat them like an animal...

This is a very good topic my friend. Actually with or without a money, we can still help other people, by doing our own simple way in the society, and pray for them. But i guess paying taxes are no good, cause leaders will only be the one to benefit from our payed taxes.
Anyway, if i will be given $ 100 million, i guess i will also do what you will do, i will never give this to the government or other institutions cause i am sure they will abuse this money and they will be the only one to be happy with that amount of money. I will distribute it myself, i will buy a land and build houses, build factories of my business so that they will have work, and then build a school with a very cheap fees, cause of course that money will be all consumed in the future that is why i need to think of a way for it to circulate, and then, i will build hospitals, farms and advance research facilities for student's who want to become future developers, i will build a church, and i will build a security for that place and i will build security agencies like insurance and health and i am sure they will live a great life and they will be one hell of a successful people and place.

You have a wonderful dream. The very fact that you have a strong feeling of goodwill for other shows that you really have a golden heart. Another idea to use the money is make striving people self sufficient so that they can take care of themselves for rest of their lives. this can done by helping them set up their own small businesses.
