How do you feel after breaking your friend's favorite watch?

I am in the situation described above. I stay with my friend and she was out for a week as a part of her engagement. I stayed alone in the house these days and I broke her favorite watch last night. I was about to switch on the TV in dark. The watch was plaed above the TV. She will be back in two days. I don't know how to face her. I feel very bad about the incident. I should have been careful. Please help me with your comments. How do you feel after breaking your friend's favorite watch?

I think you should tell your friend the truth. It will be a shock to him/her inthe first go, but then i'm sure they'll appreciate your honesty. Then get him/he a new watch and surprise them this Christmas :) May be you can even take them to the shop and get what he she like :) This would be a good bonding, i'm sure.

It is good idea to get her a watch on Christmas. It won't let her feel that I am giving her back what i broke. I told her already that I broke something in room, but I didn't tell her that it was her favorite stuff. When she came to the room, I asked her to find out what I broke and said that I feel sorry about what I did and it was an accident. She told, "Ok". I am sure that the incident made her sad even though she didn't express it.

In the first case,is it a watch or time piece?Is it her favorite one or does he have any sentimental values related to it?Is it now in working condition?If so,you can get it repaired and tell your friend about it and express your guilt.I think she will not create any scene about this incident.

That is a sad situation. It is a very cute timepiece with a photo frame. She got it free when she bought a mobile for her brother. It works now, but it is broken. I sticked it using a tape. Thanks for the respose.

Hi Daliaj, i will feel so bad. i will even cry--i may be overacting but i can relate to what my friend's feeling for losing his/her watch because of my carelessness. i will be humbly sorry for what i did and will surely make up for it. i will try to look the same watch and give it to her. it will take me a longer time to process this feeling especially if i know that my friend is not over yet about what happened to her favorite watch!
