Insomnia

Hello fellow Mylotters, I was wondering if anyone else out there had really bad insomnia problems? I have since I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia in high school and as a result one of the symptoms is chronic fatigue. Now in no way am I making an excuse but it's there and it stinks big time. When I was employed before this horrible economy happened I was on a fairly good sleep schedule and had a routine, now I don't have one because I'm not working. I tend to go to sleep really late and wake up whenever through out the day this could be early, mid day or really late and than my sleep is all screwed up again. I was taking a sleep aid to help and it does but I don't want to become dependent and I don't have insurance to get an actual prescription from a doctor. I was just curious if anyone has any similar problems, it tends to get really aggravating and I don't feel normal. I know a lot of American's have sleep problems so I'm not the only one. I'd love to hear from other people and I'll take any advice on how to get back to a somewhat normal lifestyle. I've heard you just have to force yourself to go to bed at a decent time and wake up at a decent time, is this true? I'm sure it's common sense but I'd still like to hear people's opinions. Thanks

I would advice you to do some yoga. I'm sure of this... Okay?

I'll give it a try lol, I don't have a yoga mat or any instructional videos/dvds though. Money is quite tight right now with the economy but I know a lot of people do yoga and I hear it's good so I'll have to look into it. Thanks for the response, do you do yoga yourself?

Yes I do and it really works. I'm sure even during your first day of doing it, you can get your sleep as early as 8 or 9 in the everning. As a beginner, start with "Khripalhu" this is like meditation in motion in english..

Hi, same as you, I have a very messed up sleeping routine. Thus, now I am making my alarm clock rings for the time to be heading to bed and the time to wake up. It is tough though but I hope it will improve as it is really bad for health to be up in the late night doing nothing but surfing the net.

I completely understand. I'm going to sleep when most people are going to be waking up for school or work. I'm up on the Internet, watching TV or playing the Nintendo Wii which is no good and than I eat because I don't know what else to do. So one bad habit after the next, I've been wanting to lose weight but with my sleep problems and the useless eating, it's not helping. I feel so lost sometimes! Ahh but as much as it's bad for us both to be awake at this time, I'm glad someone can relate and understands where I'm coming from. It would be different if I was working 3rd shift and I was going to be getting home from work soon, it's a hard schedule but I'd be up for a reason.

I totally understand your frustration because it just seems like there is always so much time and the next day there isn't any thing on schedules so it's really quite hard to be following a "plan". Let's just try and see if it is possible to create a better sleeping schedule. Cheers
