I was really surprising when i read this news in article, Tea and coffee drinker have a lower risk of developing type 2 diabetes. According to them, they looked at 18 different studies involving near 500 people. This analysis revealed that peoples who drink 3 or 4 cups of coffee or tea a day cut their risk by fifth or more say researchers. If the findings prove true , doctors may well start advising to people to put the kettle on as well as take exercise and watch their weight, say the researches. When the authors combined and analyzed the data , they found that each additional cup of coffee consumed in a day cut diabetes risk by 7%. Do you take tea/ coffee daily, do you feel reducing of diabetes from tea?

I am very happy to know that tea and coffee help people with diabetes. bless those diabetics! Spread your word like fire to those people living around you! But my friend it would be better if people prevented these type of disease causing junk food and normal food! What do you say?

Hi. My husband and I are heavy coffee drinker. We don't really like teas. This is a great news for us in case it's true. But I think it would still depend on how you make the coffee. I personally like drinking strong coffee with less sugar. My husband, on the other, would like to add more than one tablespoon of sugar into his coffee. I always remind him about the quantity of sugar he adds on his coffee.

Yes, I saw that article too. I was very much surpised. I am a coffee drinker, drinking four or five cups a day, starting from breakfast time. My friends have been telling me to reduce my coffee intake, saying that it is not good for my health. Now I have to show this article to all of them, and ask them to drink more coffee ! Ha ha !!

I read about this study and it kind of surprised me as well. I do drink tea but not every day...maybe I'll be more regular with my tea drinking from now on. However, I've known people who were quite regular tea or coffee drinkers who still did get diabetes so I guess nothing is fail-safe. Maybe tea/coffee combined with an overall healthy lifestyle is the best way to go.

Green tea is a given. The Chinese and Japanese have low risk of diabetes due to daily consumption of green tea. However, I'm not so sure about coffee and red tea, since most of us add creamer and sugar to the coffee and red tea. I, for one, love coffee with a scoop of ice-cream. I doubt that is effective in combating diabetes. Fortuantely I dont have the habit of taking coffee with ice-cream every day.

hi umer 5222 oh yes I read about those studied in American Diabetes Assoc.com and wish I had known about this years before.for a long time I swore off coffee as all the experts,so called, were saying how caffeine was bad for you. Now to realize I might have prevented my diabetes is sort of sad, but I am in control most of the time so that much is good. now I do drink my four cups of coffee a day.

as long as drink tea and coffee is not mixed with sugar, I'm sure the tea and coffee are able to protect people who have diabetes problems but when mixed with sugar, ready-prepared course, blood sugar levels that's person will rise ...
