Yes, I'm bothered by the new style in music where there is so much shouting. There is no rhythm at all. All noise. And these kinds of sounds, I can not recall any singer. I just turn them off.

I feel the same way you do. I can't stand rap. It drives me crazy! I like to sing and listening to people talk isn't my idea of music. I also can't really stand jazz. It also annoys me. I have begun to like country music, because it is one of the forms of music that people still actually sing. I don't like twangy country. But, a lot of country sounds like southern rock now. I enjoy that a whole lot!

I like rap in general, although there are some songs or artists that I really do not like. I like "hip-hop" or whatever the most current style of that is, which combines rap and singing. There is even a country singer, Cowboy Troy, that combines rap with country music, and I really like it. I like some forms of most types of music, although I might not enjoy listening to a lot of it. I really dislike the screaming-type music, as Lamb stated, and I do not like classical music or most music that does not have words, although there are some exceptions to that, too. I really do not like opera, though, and I have not found any of it that I have liked yet. I guess I just have a very eclectic taste for the most part, however.

There are many types of music that I simply can not stand ... Especially certain types of music here in Brazil, as Funk, Pagode, Samba, Forró, etc ...
But when it comes to world music "known" can not stand music "emo" as greenday, 30 seconds to mars.. among others, and also can not stand songs like 50 cents, etc.. Or something like Britney Spears... I think these "songs" have much effect and has little music ...I do not consider as music.

I am not a fan of Green Day either. I really don't understand what made them so popular. Their early work is dreadful. Billie Jo has improved his voice but he was dreadful at the start.

heavy metal rock music, I can't stand it at all, not even one song. The singers are not even singing they are yelling or using this voice that sounds like the devil to me.

Rap, rap, and rap. Hey, did I mention rap? I think I've two rap songs in my life that I liked. Also, sometimes it is R&B I can't stand. Not female R&B singers. It's just that sometimes male R&B singers sound like they are in pain, or that they are reaching for notes that they really shouldn't be trying to reach. I don't notice that with the female R&B singers.

Rapp really gets on my nerves I must be getting old. Most of the music these days is made in a studio with all those different gizmos. We could all be pop stars these days as singing words and carrying a tune without all the machines seems to be a thing of the past.

Let me tell you something, sometimes you don't want to know what they are actually saying. LOL
I like all kinds of music, even when they yell a little but last year I downloaded an unreleased Busta Rhymes track. When they play it on radio, you mostly hear the sampled music but not the actual lyrics. With Sony ear buds, almost every other word was the F bomb or b-tch. I'm open-minded enough to realize that everything has a place but this was just gratuitous profanity.
To find quality music, you will probably have to do what I did several yrs ago which is look to the indie radio stations. The upside is that they play a lot of indie artists that are either unsigned or signed to a small label (ex. Zero7). Downside is that you may only hear a song or artist once since they don't have a playlist so if you like something note who it is so you can hear them online or buy their music. Or, they may be like the Black Eyed Peas and sell out completely :)

I have a really vast taste in Music and Like a lot of music from most genres but there is really only one that I really can't stand. That is Punk. I hate what it stands for and I hate the intentionally ineptness of it all. I'm not the biggest fan of screamo bands but at least the guitarists tend to be great shredders.

Oh yes. And I don't think that's some sort of music. To me, it's just some kind of a loud noise.

Me too on the rap, its sampled music, its not original and they act like they created it. Now the rapping can be really good because its poetry and I like poetry but then the half naked nasty chicks come out shaking their moons and I loose all respect for the artists. I'll take intelligent rap over the mass market crap they are pouring out to the hungry teen masses.

Hi Lady, I would have just said I hated rap but Lamby seems to have a long list going there of monstrosities I probably lumped together with rap, so anything repetitive and loud is OFF.
I like the things I've always liked and never seen the attraction of this loud stuff, give me a bit of good opera or some Bryan Ferry or Nina Simone, and I'm happy. Not to mention of course the real old Greek bazouki songs.

Rap. Rap bothers me, a lot. It's pretty much the same lyrics, over and over in every song. It's as though no song is new, it's all about women, money, getting drunk, and fighting. I only like one Rap artist, and even some of his songs rub me the wrong way. I also am very bitter towards some country songs. I guess I'm just a rock girl at heart. =]
