Do you think Obama is doing a good job as president so far?

I think he is doing a good job but it could be better. He is true to his word that he wants to do something about health care, but I don't know about the whole war thing. I thought when he got elected he would send the troops home. I think when he travels he represents the United States well. What are your thoughts on Obama as president.

He he, well, your a brave young lady, welcome to the politics section and hang on to your star....lol.
Lets see, how is Barak Obama doing? Well, he is pretty much the thrid Bush term as far as I am concerned. in fact, he is no different than any other president in recent history, no different than most of congress either really.
I find it laughable that he calls himself a "constituional scholar", but then I usualy run screaming when ever someone calls them selves that, all that means is they are not shy about using fast and loose interpretation of it, like most of DC, and he has proven no different.
I don't fall in for the whole left/right paradigm, I don't identify my politcal beliefs as conservative or liberal as it is an incomplet and inacurate description of over all political ideolgy. I consider myself a libertarian oriented person and vote accordingly, which means to me, no democratsm no republicans, both the two big commercial parties have absolutely ruined the country,
Lets say I want to pretend Obama is honest and sincere in serving this country...he would still recieve a failing grade from me. for all his "play nice with them" attitude on foriegn policy, what has it honestly acomplished? Seriously? Iran is no more cooperative, in fact are more boisterous, North Korea still has nukes and no plans of getting rid of them, AL Quieda already hates him (as if I care what al quieda thinks), Venezuala mocks us as does most of the centeral american world, the middle east still hates us.
As domestic policy goes, the last thing we need are more laws, sorry Obama, the answer to everything is NOT a new law. As for ecomomy, he is continuing and expanding the incredible spending spree Bush took us on, if I am BROKe, I do NOt go and spend MPRe money, it defies logic.
So the short answer to your question....no.
*Don't blame me, I voted for Baldwin

*note: More troops in Afghnistan is one of the very few things he did that I actually agree with, good to see him at least showing a pair of balls there, and his unapologetic speech to the Nobel Prize committe, defnding this and defending our right to defend our country. I will give him props for that.

I agree with the deploying more troops however Obama did not give them the number the general requested... not even the minimum number he said he needed to get the job done... I think it just came down to he knew he had to do it or else it would hurt him politically.
I see one BIG difference xfahctor... he spends more of our money than all of past presidents combined!

Not real impressed so far. But it could be worse. I think he has shown himself to be ineffective when it comes to congress. He can't get them to work together and get things done. Not even within his own party. Plus I am not happy with how he much debt he has gotten us into. I was mad at Bush for it. I am mad at Obama for it too. We need to pay down our national debt.....not make it worse.

You really ARE brave to post that here...lol! The number of myLot members who post in this interest regularly who don't absolutely detest the President could be counted on one hand, I'm afraid. To make it even more difficult, there are SOME here who will say one or more of the following to anyone who happens to say anything that's not horrible about him - that you worship him, you adore him, you don't think he can do anything wrong, you're a stupid follower who voted for him for all the wrong reasons and you think anyone who doesn't feel the same is a racist.
I've never "worshiped or adored" any politician nor have I ever known one who could do no wrong. I researched all of the candidates and all of the issues before deciding who would get my vote last year as I've done before every election since I've been old enough to vote. I certainly know there are many people who simply disagree with the President's policies and it has nothing to do with his race. I also know there ARE some who are influenced by racism and bigotry. That isn't meant to offend anyone, it's simply a statement of fact. It's also a fact that there are some racists and bigots who DO like and support the President.
All of that having been said, I think President Obama has done a pretty good job so far. I haven't agreed with everything and he hasn't been perfect but I've never known a President yet to be perfect or do do everything I wanted him to do!

Well, he gives himself a solid B+ for the past year. lol
I think he didn't deserve the Nobel Peace Prize. I think he is trying to do too much too soon. I think he is taking this country down the wrong road toward socialism. He doesn't seem to have the slightest idea how to fix the economy. I think he is a two faced liar. A person really has to listen and pay attention to what he says because there is always another angle to everything he says.
I think that when he goes to other countries and bows to their leaders that he is a huge embarrassment to America.
As far as doing something about health care. I think he just wants it as a feather in his hat so that he can go down in history as the president who did it. I don't think he cares about anyone but himself.

Well, honestly, it isn't Obama's job to find you a job. This is the mistake most folks make when they go to the polls, they vote for whoever will allow the government to give them the most, why rely on government for your well being? If your waiting on Obama to provide you a job, your going to be wating a while...
Besides, your still a kid, how many job oportunites do you expect to be available to you at 17? For now, your better off to stay in school get a decent education and expand your possibilities, trust me on that one.

Well, first, congratulations on graduating. Now, as for continuing your education, have you looked in to financial aid? There are hoops to jump through and it is a lot of work, but well worth the effort, nothing worth while is easy. My yoiungest daughter spent almost a year in advance looking in to financial aid, appying for it, getting help with SAT's and admission fee's and such. She did a lot of footwork in advance and is now in nursing school, with out so much as a dime out of her (or my) pocket. It's worth a serious look in to.
I perhaps over simplified my remarks to you and for that I apologize, but i was trying to render a point.
Anyway, Anyone who honestly believed Obama was going to waltz in, wave a wand and make a recession disapear was seriously deluding themselves. The recession didn;t apear over night and isn;t the fault of one man, one president, one congress or one government entity, it is a complex problem that has been decades in the making. the way Obama is going about it is COMPLETELY wrong however, expect it to get much worse. DO yourself a favor son, look in to other parties, like the libertarian party, the constiutution party etc when you do reach voting age. Neither of the two big parties are going to do anything to end the financial crisis. In fatc there are those in office who NEED to keep the crisi going, it's an excuse for more power. Do not believe for one second that government is a benevolent entity that has nothing but our best interests at heart.
