The best thing about living in New York

I love New York but sometimes it's really difficult living in this city. The rents are so high and the competition for jobs is fierce.
Yet there is an energy in this city that just doesn't seem to exist anywhere else in this world. Many people feel they could never live anywhere else and in fact some have left this city to only come back because they couldn't adjust to any other place after being a New Yorker.
What do you think is the best thing about this city? What makes you addicted to New York.

im not a new yorker or city folk or anything. if you must i would consider myself a redneck. but i have reccently thought about moving to a city setting. only because of the job opportunities, thanks for telling me thatjobs are no easier to get there than here. been looking for moths cant get a job anywhere. i do live in the deep country but as a middle class (good vehicles andno financial problems, grad of high school). but everysince obama has came into office its no jobs for anyone.
