Public libraries - when was the last time you've went to one?

I recently went to the public library nearest my house about a week ago, and I was surprised to realize how much I totally miss going to the library! The quietness, the vast amount of possibility in the air (so many books! so little time!), the open computers (which work surprisingly well for being public property), and just the overall atmosphere of intelligence that comes with the libraries and library-goers. (Well, it honestly depends on the library about this one. I've been to some G-H-E-T-T-O libraries where it seems like NO one will shut up for a minute and only FEW people ooze bibliographic intelligence!).
Anyway, I wanted to see who here goes to the library on a constant basis. And who here, like me, is AMAZED when they go the few times that they do - at how lovely it is!
Do you have public libraries nearby? Do you get the same sense of euphoria?

I used to have this strange Library phobia, which is really weird because I've always loved to read. I think it was because I kept keeping books too long and had fines as a kid. Anyway, it's not a problem anymore. I read fast these days. I have been going to our public library regularly. Partially because I ALWAYS need to be reading a book, and I don't have the money to buy them all the time. I prefer buying books and owning them, but I'll go to the library when I want to read a book that I might not necessarily buy.

Yesterday, I went to a writing group at the library and got this book I'm really looking forward to reading. I go to the library about every week to check out new books, pick up stuff I've ordered, or get a video since my cable has been shut off. I think libraries are amazing places.

I often go to the library, and I have two different library cards. There is a small library pretty close to my village. It is easy to go there, but there are a not a lot of books or films, and I prefer to go to the big library instead. I love the big library, there are so many interesting books, and I like to walk around at look at the books. I tend to borrow too many books when I am there, I never manage to read them all, but it is hard to control myself, because there so many books that I would like to read

I have to go to the public library every week for college. Whenever we do research they make it mandatory that we use the library for at least one resource. My favorite place with books is the book store though. I LOVE buying books and just sitting down while I preview the books I may by. My dad is the same way, he always falls asleep in book stores because he's so comfortable.

Our public library is actually only two blocks away from our house so we tend to visit it quite often especially in the summer time as we like to walk up the alleys and do a lot of the summer activities that are held at the library. Our library is a very nice library for such a small town and there is quite a variety of books new and old that way we can have such a good choice. While we have been into our library numerous times none of us have actually sat down and read a book in there although I am sure once my kids get older and start doing reports and such they might go to the library for the silence..

I always went on public places whenever it is available. It is peaceful and quite and for sure to learn so many things while in there, aside from having lots of books to gather information, the calmness of the place will make us sure to understand and digest every single work that a book will supply our brains. It will surely make us a hell of an intelligent person. Have a great day!

I go the my public library alomst every week- I've become a total bookworm recently and my local library is a really, really nice one. They are extremely organized and have a "hold" system where you can look up books and movies, and now even video games on their website, enter you library card number and request the thing you want. The first time I went to this library, I was really amazed. Most of the libraries I'd been to before don't even compare. w
