i'm sure that almost people love dogs ,even though these people are bite by dogs.
i am this kind perpon , when i was a little girl one day i went to my friend's house and her dog just borned baby i don't know we cannot face to face with baby born dog.i watched her ,exactly her baby, and she barked first then she bite me in my leg.
maybe some people will be afraid of dogs after this experience but not me , i like dogs more after that..
i kept dogs before but they died or be stolen so i think i need to live alone for some time .
and now i live with my boyfriend and i talked to him about keeping a dog ,he don't agree with me .he said i will pregnant in future dog will hurt me and our baby...
maybe after decades i will keep a dog again.

I've been bitten by a dog at work (but never really attacked) and I didn't feel any negative thoughts towards that dog...or any other dog. I love dogs and even if I were attacked I'd never stop owning them.
And I'm sorry, but your boyfriend is absolutely wrong about dogs, 100%! A dog would not hurt you or your baby. If you have a dog before you get pregnant and it has a chance to bond with you, it'll bond just as well with your baby. You just have to get the right breed (Great Pyrenees' LOVE having something smaller to watch over, it's in their genes)...there are tons of breeds that are great with kids.
And if you're really worried about bodily injury to you or a future baby get a small breed (Pugs are very gentle and goofy dogs)...
You don't have to live without a dog if you love them so much. Dogs are great companions for adults and babies. And think of this...a dog (big or small) would be extra protection for you and a baby.

I have three dogs, none of them small and they have all been around the babies and children in my family. They seem to understand that babies/children are like puppies, that they are "innocent" and defenseless...so even if my nieces of nephew do something that could earn a growl or a snap, the dogs don't do it. Now, I understand every dog is different, but most will be okay.
If your boyfriend is still unsure about a dog, tell him even a little dog could act as protection because, first of all, they are good alarm systems (good barkers! lol) but they also won't let their size stop them from stepping between their family and any potential harm that could befall them.
Let's see....Cavalier King Charles dogs are AWESOME! They have such sweet demeanor's and they're very gentle. Corgi's are great little dogs too, very friendly and goofy. Again, a pug is a good little dog. Chihuahua's can get a bit snippy, so if you'd really be worried about a baby maybe skip that breed (although I love them! lol)....just do your research into dogs breeds and you'd find the perfect one for you! :)
I could never imagine living without a dog! :)

I think you should get a dog, just get the right kind. There are plenty of dogs that are great with kids, and I'm sure you could find one that you wouldn't have to worry about.
I think people are afraid of dogs because they don't understand them. Like how you said you didn't know that you can't go face to face with the puppy, because they think your challenging them, so they'll bite. It's their natural reaction, but, if you know that, then there's no reason why you should be afraid of being bit.
I think you should have a dog around your kid, because having a dog around when I was younger was one of the best parts of my childhood. I loved my dog when I was a kid, and I'm so glad we had him.

I treat my pup like my son , not my boyfriend hehe. I love them as much as I love my family; I take good care of him, I couldn't imagine he will leave me eventually in who knows how many years...13 years?... I like to have dogs, they are very god company and loyal to you always.

If you like Labradors then i suggest one! Every lab i've ever met is as gentle as hell.
Though i do suggest, as it there was a story in the newspaper earlier on i read, that whenever you're not in the room the dog should not be left alone with the child / baby. ANd must be supervised etc. Merely because such tragedies happen when there is noone there to help.

i also like dogs and there was one cute withe dog on our house and it really give us much happy on that time.when we are back from outside the dog may run to recepit us and climb to hug us. when we go outside it will see us off for a long way and do not go back to the house until we forced it a lot...my best loved dog memory..
