What's on your desktop?

Desktop wallpaper screan shot - I know this isn't a picture of my cat. In fact I don't know what it is. I want to say a thick forest and trees, but I'm also leaning for grass. To be quite honest I can't tell. I would have put a picture of Precious on the machine as wallpaper but decided not to because I'm still paying for the computer. When I pay it off I'll personlize it a little more. But should I not be able to pay off my contract I would have less work to do wiping it.

I was viewing this site a while back and cam across a topic about desktops and how frequently, or infrequently people change their backgrounds. Now I stated I don't very often, but I like to personalize when I can. Most often I'll use my cat as a picture for my wallpaper as he is my cat and its a unique way to say its mine. So the question i'm perposing right now, is what do you guys have on your desktop? What kinds of things do you do to personlize your computer to make it unique and stand out and make it "yours"?Here attached is my current desktop screanshot.

@DianneN I still think it's funny. It's nice-looking on old discussions I've started since I've been here. Ah, boredom. XD! I should do a what's on your lockscreen addition next.

I don't pay that much attention to the background. I am using one of the windows backgrounds with various blues. I like it. But what I tend to have on my desktop is lots of icons. More than a lot of people, I guess I accumulate things on my desktop. Part of this is shortcuts saved from web pages. This allows convenient access to find the website again. I know that's what bookmarks are fore, but I have often used the desktop. Depends if you can tolerate a cluttered desktop (both kinds). djbtol

Yea I know what you mean by lots of icons. I used to, but now i clean my desktop maybe once or twice a month, else it's full and becoming a problem. If you don't like having lots of icons on your desktop, I'll give you a tip : Juste create a folder. One named Web pages for example, another named programs,... Anyway, that's just an idea if you get bored of having your desktop filled with icons.

Thanks for the reply. Using folders is a good way to tidy up things. I have done that, as well. Djbtol

Right now I don't have anything on there. For a while I had a picture of my dog and at one time I even had a Kelly Clarkson screen saver that my husband put on there for me. But ever since I got my new lap top I have not put anything on my desktop. I suppose I should, if I do it will likely be a picure of my kids.

I try to keep a picture of my kids on mine but every time my computer does an update it is constantly removing that image so I have found that if i use a screen shot from their list(one that was provided) it will stay through the updates so I decided to go with a desktop that has some snowy mountains and a lake that has frozen over in black and white...it is very pretty

Yea, isn't it great when your kids change things on you. My girls also like to mess with my cell phone. Animals are certainly a good choice for the desktop, though.

I think my desktop is a bit ordinary, it's only a Xbox 360 controler with "The power is within" written over it. It's simple and I love to play xbox 360, but I like to change often, so maybe next week I dont know, it could be a picture I took in Jamaica or a screenshot of Modern Warfare 2.

desktop theme - nice clean image, might look a bit boring but it doesn't distract me from working...
Your desktop looks like bamboo to me - but what do I know? we don't have a lot of bamboo where I come from... Mine is a nice clean image I downloaded as part of an XP desktop theme - I have four different colours of the same thing and have used different colours for different users on my home PC. I also tend to use photo's I have taken of scenery or wild flowers etc... I currently have four desktops on the go, two at work (meerkat picture taken at a local animal sanctuary, misty morning sunrise taken a few years ago) and two at home (this one and a close up of a poppy taken on holiday) (the uploaded pic doesn't look as smooth as the real thing, my graphics card blends the 'web' looking lines out to a smooth graduation)
