a comment about Richard Brinsley Sheridan

when i reviewed my textbook, i found a comment about Sheridan.Buti dont really undertand it, can you help me ? The comment is "He wished to be remembered as a man of politics and to be buried next to Fox,but he was laid near Garrick instead." What does "Fox" and "Garrick" mean ?
