Two days ago, my father and Mom went to a nearby supermarket for shopping. When my dad came out from the market, two men came up my parents asked for spare change, and they begged with miserable reason, they haven't eaten for days something like that. Out of sympathy. my father gave them $3.
On their way home, my mom argued that they seems capable to work, and they are much stronger than anybody. We shouldn't waste another dime to help those lazy bums who doesn't want to work.
I totally agree with my mom's argument, and I have seen a lot of people do the same. They are perfectly be able to work, at least McDonald, or some fast food joint. They can make a minimal living at least, and won't need to beg. Would you give them any money if you encounter the same situation?

I have seen a lot of people in the markets and railway station, asking for money. I dont really feel pity on them.
They seem to be ok. but they still want to be lazy and get money. I wont say they earn money, they are stealing money from weak-hearted people, who feel they are pityful.
I had already started a discussion regarding this. I hope this thing gets stopped someway. But dont know how you can stop people of this kind. The more people pay attention to them and give money to them, the more they roam on streets, without doing any work.

According to my friend's opinion, it was partially our government's fault too. Because our hard - earned tax money was alloted to those lazy bum who constantly shouting hardship of living, unable to earn money, etc..... They can gather up their pride, and work at the fast food joint, they can still afford a burger or two, or even a decent place to live. Don't you think?

Personally in today's economy, etc. I have never been one to judge someone as there are many out there who really need the help and have no where to really turn, and maybe for some reason cannot get a job as well. And even with all the jobs that are out there, if you are making minimum wage can you afford an apt, food, etc. as well? Sometimes my thoughts are unless I know they are the ones living in nice homes, driving nice cars, but just acting homeless, we never really know their situation in life until you have walked in their shoes as well.

no never should we encourage this behaviour.there is a very apt adage in sanskrit for this. the saying goes : never give alms to the undeserving.good work done for undeserving ends up as a wastage so try and do good to those in actual need of it. this would make god happy

I don't usually rationalize the situation when I decide to give money to someone on the streets.
I don't feel the reason they're asking me is important. I have decided if they asked they must feel they need it.
I usually simply base my reason for giving on whether I have the money or the time to give it. Sometimes I am rushing and it's hard to stop or I simply can't spare the money that day or just don't have it.
Yes, some of the people asking for money are probably quite capable of working but perhaps they have some emotional problem that prevents them from being able to see their abilities.

I definitely do not give money to people who are able bodied and can fend for themselves. I think we should give money only to the poor and the sick. Those who can earn money themselves and are lazy to do so do not deserve any money.

Yes, i also agree with you. We should not gieve money to the people who seem as strong as possible to work. If we sympathize them and give them money, they only find itis a much easy way to earn money just by asking, and then inhence their thought for lazy. But aslo there are many people that incapacitated really need our help. So when you enter the same situation next time, just give him some food but not money.

Looks can be deceiving. There are people who are physically healthy, but are incapable of holding on to any job due to mental problems. There is also the problem of securing a job due to various factors like age, place of residence, and education level.
At the same time there are people who loathe working. Usually I buy something to drink or eat whenever someone begs me for money because they have not eaten. The frauds usually do not accept the offer

i would not agree to something like that because they may not be able to get a job do to their apperance and smell and if they are homeless and gets a job where he goig to sleep and put his mney. banks are an option but they charge you fees and i dont think the homeless cant afford fees on low amounts of pay

I totally agree with your reason. I don't give money to people who beg and can still be considered helpful to the society. If they can't work as employees for a fast food joint they can work in a junk shop or apply to those kind of jobs that doesn't require a lot of papers and experience. They should learn how to live for themselves and not count on others' help.
