Real Trees or Plastic?

I have never had a real tree in my entire life, I've gone to family christmas parties where they have had real tall xmas trees, and i sort of get my fill of them through that but, it would be nice to have one real tree in my life. Although I did hear this one funny story about this woman who had gotten a real tree they were putting up decorations when a frog jumped out of it, it took them an hour to get the frog out of the house. Any interesting or funny xmas tree moments? The only uninteresting thing i can see is that my mom once had our very nontraditional plastic xmas tree up for over ten years...it looked more ornate, glass bulbs, no tinsel :( or red flashy ornaments, just museum looking stuff.

I really don't have any "tree" stories. However I learned valuable tricks on keeping cats out of trees, real and fake. Apparently they love to climb trees and they can't tell or relize they aren't suposed to climb fake christmass trees. But they did all my cats did growing up. My sister next door used to get a real tree every year. Afterwords, it would take forever to clean up the pine needles. Plus unlike fake trees her cats could hide in hers without difficulty because the branches were more firm and stronger.

That's what I heard about keeping a real tree. It gets hard to get rid of pine needles.

Hi there, three years ago my family had a real "pine tree" as our Christmas Tree. We got it somewhere in the woods. It is a little big, but a very beautiful tree. We decorated it and make it a very wonderful tree. When we lighted up, we noticed that there is something moving inside the tree. Checking it out, a 6 inches color green-brown lizard jumped from that tree. It definitely freaks me out, I hate reptiles especially lizards. My dad has a hard time catching and pushing that lizard to go out the house. All the girls are screaming, some almost cried. Since then, we never again use real pine tree, we just got a plastic Christmas tree from the store. Merry Christmas.

Since the Christmas is not our official festival, although it becomes much more popular these years. The plastic Christmas tree will be good enough for us. At least it can be cycled and we can use it for many years:) This will be good for the environment.
I love China

Hello callie, I am much like you where as far as I can remember we have always had a fake tree and it is the same with my family. There seems to be a memory of when my mother got a real tree once and it seemed more of a work as an enjoyment.
I like having a fake tree much better because my family loves to put our Christmas decorations up the weekend of Thanksgiving and keep them up until the weekend after New Years so a real tree would never work for us.

Real trees. Plastic ones don't look so good and authentic and they also don't have any smell. Real trees are natural and I like them more.

i am not having any story related to the tree but yes i have real Christmas tree , my grandmother planted the trees few years back and now it is fully grown and is really so beautiful now , due to the trees heights it is a bit difficult to decorate the tree but it is not impossible to decorate the tree and as the tree is tall so it looks so beautiful when it is fully decorated and at night it shines out with lights and ornaments sparkle. Decorating a real tree is a fun also. Merry Christmas :)

I also don't have any christmas tree stories, as we've always had fake trees every year. The tree we have now is 8' tall and we have been using it for 3 years. It replaced a 6 ft tree which we also used for 4 years.
I have never seen a real christmas tree decorated with ornaments. The stories I hear about real trees are that it smelled great, and that pine needles seem to be a problem.

I should say Plastic (because that's what we have now!). Though i've wanted real trees, we cant have because our place is like hot and warm. Pine trees just cant manage to live to a place like ours. But I do have Christmas tree moment. I goes like, when we've finished decorating the tree, our cat saw those balls hanging and jumped over them. He just not jumped over them, he climbed the tree until he reached the top. We end up redecorating the tree, removing some stuff he ruined!. haha.
