I think Associated content, didn't ask you to have a credit card, but they ask for your PayPal email address. So, the problem for you is with PayPal, actually to verified your PayPal account you can do it without have to credit card. You can find a service that sell a Virtual Credit Card (VCC), it can be use to verified PayPal account. So you can join with associated content and other website that pay the member for joining their program. For associated content, i also have become their member for almost a year, this is a good site to earn money online. If you like to write and creative in your way to create article then this is good for you. Because Associated content paid their publisher for each article that you submit, but you will get this upfront payment if you come from USA. For member that come from other country like me, you only get paid from performance payment, which i'll get paid for every people that read my article, Like CPM program. The rate is $1.5/1000 article read by people. So, I think you should solve your problem first with PayPal until your account become verified. Then you can make money online with other website.

I don't remember having to need to have a verified paypal account. You do need to verify that you are you through the phone, but that's about it to my knowledge. Otherwise you just need to set up and have a paypal in general and you're good to go.
