My family is in crisis right now. Financial crisis... I want to help and bring happiness to them. We really need some money for this coming christmas but I guess we will not gonna celebrate it like the past christmas we had. I did not pass the interview of a job with a 10,000 signing bonus. I have thought that it will be a solution to our problems if only I'll get hired. But unfortunately I was rejected, I guess that was not the right job for me... I'm still hoping this coming christmas would be still fun and happy even without money.

Times are really hard now, and a lot of people are probably feeling what you're feeling right now. It's also hard to find a job at this time because there are not a lot of job openings in many companies. Continue to look for a job, there will probably be work waiting for you by the start of 2010.
As for your Christmas, the celebration doesn't need to be grandiose. Just give what you can and make the most out of the season. I think spending your Holidays with your loved ones is enough to make the day special.

Money is not the only reason to be happy. But, yes, we all need money. When I was still studying, my family used to have some problems thinking about what are we going to prepare for Christmas. We belong in a middle class family, not rich and not poor. But since I was studying, the salary of my father was intended for my allowance and tuition fee so we hardly had extra money for other things. But, despite of that fact, I can really say that we were able to celebrate a lot of happy Christmas even without much money. I am hoping that we will always be happy every Christmas, and everyday. I hope you and your family too. Merry Christmas in advance.

All of us need money I remember our sad Christmas before when I was a kid our mother don't have money that time because she can't get the salary of our Father because he was assigned in the ship and that time ATM was not available. Even if without money you can spend your Christmas happily with your family. Let's be thankful that we celebrate Christmas with our family and we are still alive.

i know money is necessary part of a life but if you are happy with your as it is what GOD gave you won't need money to celebrate your happiness.and think about that money not always brings happiness.too much money is also a problem because if u dnt help other then u won't be happy yourself so consider this an advice.

I hope that you can find a way to celebrate Christmas, but if not, maybe you could celebrate it for all the other reasons it should be celebrated (the birth of Jesus Christ our savior) if you believe in them, and then later exchange gifts.
Good Luck to you finding a job regardless, and I hope you'll have a wonderful Christmas no matter what.

I don't really think if you can get it in this few times left until christmas come. But just do your best to do what you can do. No matter how much will you get, the most important thing is you can reunion with your family together. No need to have a big party or a glamor party, but you must make your family can feel the essence of christmas. And i suggestion for you, for the next year christmas, perhaps you can make the preparation from the beginning of next year. If you save your money for christmas budget month to month, i believe you can have enough money on the December for celebrating your next year christmas party. Good luck for you and have a nice day. Happy mylotting.

that a sad news friend, but you don't have to be so sad. The important thing is that you still have your family and they will always give support to you no matter the situation is. For now while you still and wait for real job, maybe you can earning money online from internet, beside earn in mylot you can also try to work as a freelancer. There are some freelance site but unlike the usual freelance sites that require some skill in programming. These are micro work sites, you can try to sign up there for free and you can really get extra money easily and fast without spending much time. If you interested, try to visit microworkers.com, shorttask.com, mturk.com or cloudcrowd. For the last one is micro job site that you can do from facebook. Just login to facebook as usual an find application for cloudcrowd. All the payment from the site that i said above is through Paypal. Hope it will be helpful for you.

Well surely Christmas is not just about money, so I'm sure you can have a FANTASTIC time without much money at all at christmas. If nothing else you will get to spend time with family and friends. Maybe you can even manage to make a nice meal. Maybe you could even dance to some music or make some music.
Money is great for solving problems and bringing power into your life but is Christmas really that much of a problem and if it is, should it be?

Reading your message again, perhaps you mean that your family will be feeling too sad to enjoy christmas because of their financial problems. They will be too worried?
If so I hope you will all be able to put that out of your mind and to concentrate on the good things in your life! At least for christmas. Come the new year I'm sure you can find answers to your problems!

Hello friend! Yes money is not important to celebrate Christmas. The true meaning of Christmas is forgiving, love and giving. You can celebrate Christmas everyday in your heart. I can recall which i cannot forget, one time we celebrated Christmas in a single taste bread that our neighbor gave to us. What we did was only to pray. But in spite of that we still in good health. So Christmas is always in our heart as long as we believe Jesus Christ our savior, He is there to be with us. Just pray that God give will you a job right now. I am sure next Christmas you will celebrate it with happiness and love.

vycess - I'm really sorry to hear that. Well I don't know much how you feel because my Christmas and New Years holidays wont change at all and will be much fun. My fiance will be not receiving gifts from his family which it will be the same kind of like yours. Well his is kind of different than yours because he is currently working paying more money than his dad and younger brother. Well everything what Bush left for Obama it's a lot of work and he won't do it in a year so it will take some time. People criticize about Obama and his works when we have no clue how much work he has to do. I'm very sorry that you didn't get a job like you said it might of been right for you but there will be other kind of jobs and better ones. I hope things will work out with you and your family. I just wish Bush hadn't had done this mess because he's happy with his money and were over here struggling with tons of things. Trust me you will find a better job just don't give up. Okay.^_^ Well I don't care much about presents which I've always been like that as long I've got my family and still have food and clothes to eat and wear that's all it matters. Put a smile on your face things will come out good and better. You'll see...

I, unfortuantely, and in the same boat you are in. I lost my job about 3 weeks before Thanksgiving. There will be little to no presents for the kids this year. Our oldest son is 21 and he definitely understands, however the two younger ones are 12 and 14...they understand to a point, however, it is terrible they have to suffer. They are, however, good kids, so they tell us not to worry, that they understand. I know things will turn around for us in 2010. I just hope they will turn around soon. I want to wish you and your family a blessed Christmas and hopefully both of our luck will change quickly.

Sorry to hear about your job interview... I know it is tough during Christmas especially if children are involved. Do not think about it as rejection? Hold your head high and just think you were over qualified for the job.... Go to the next interview not c*cky but with the the attitude and confidence that you are the right person for that job. Everything will be alright.... Last but not least... Pray it really does help and prays can come true if you pray unselfishly.

Wow, a 10k signing bonus!? I'm not sure where you live, but I'm in the US..I don't make much as a houskeeper, so I finished with my Associates in Business-a generalized degree to help me find a better paying job. Well, that was april of 2008...I'm now paying student loans on a poverty level incomeYIKES! I haven't found anything and am in the same boat this year. It's been my lowest income year ever! :( I feel for all the people out there, homeless, hungry or just barely making ends meet. There has to be some good coming to all after this bad recession stuff! Sadly Christmas has become too commercial and lost its true meaning for many :(
If anything, being broke has taught me to have faith
