Here in the UK it is traditional to have cranberry sauce with turkey, especially on Christmas Day, we also like apple sauce with pork which in our family we have on Boxing Day. The apples we grow in the garden so during harvest time we will make apple sauce and then freeze it for the winter months. Whenever I eat ham or gammon I like to have pineapple as an accompaniment with it. Ham and pineapple always go together well. I even like fruits on my pizza.

Hello youless. I have never tried those two dishes mentioned, but I think that it must taste very good. I cannot recall what kind of fruit dishes I have ever had for the time being. I would like to give it a try if there is such a chance for it. It is a very creative dish.

hi youless when I was able to do my own cooking I always sliced
apples and put with the pork roast in the last half hour of so of roasting. they are a delicious combination. Apples and meat to make a soup sounds good, wish I had a way to cook, I wou ld try
it. Merry Christmas to you and yours youless.

Hello, Youless:-) I love using fruits in cooking dishes. My country, Philippines, is a tropical one and fruits are abundant. When I cook beef stew I'd like to add bananas on it. It gives that freshness and a little sweetness to the dish. Pineapples for both chicken and pork cooked in vinegar.Recently, I discovered that fresh grapes are delicious for saucy beef dishes.:-)

I used to have a crockpot recipe for pork chops and you cooked apple slices with the pork chops. We all thought it tasted great, but I lost the recipe years ago. I've thought about it often. I'm sure if I do a search online I can find the recipe. I should do that too since we have apple in the fridge and pork chops in the freezer.

Hi, youless. No, I don't use fruits in any of my dishes that I cook. I only use fruits when I am not cooking. I don't think that I would like the taste of fruits being in my food. I don't even like pineapples on my pizza. I never was the type to like fruits in my foods while cooking. I guess it diminishes the taste of the meat flavor.

This is all sounds so good! No, I don't use fruits in any of my dishes but I eat fruit as a dessert all the time. I love Chinese food and the pineapple fried with beef sounds delicious. Pineapple is one of my favorite fruits, anyway. Kathy.

Porkchops and apples are a classic combination. At home, I cook sweet and sour pork with peaches (instead of the classic pineapple). It's sweet and adds a great texture to the dish. I make sure i don't overcook it, though. I don;t want it mushy.

Hi youless,
I use pineapple a lot too for my soup, fried vegetables and most of all salads. it's really fresh. But other than pineapples I rarely use any other fruits well except orange for my salad sauce.
