I have all kinds of electric gadgets in my kitchen as I love to cook. I have discovered that it is cheaper in the end to spend more ion a good tool than to have to throw it away at the fisrt try. I like Oster. It has service everywhere and the motor has more power (check that).
Sometimes you think of using a blender just to make soome fruit juices and that will not need a powerful blender. But as time passes you discover new uses to it. I make pesto there, sauces of many kinds, all sorts of cream soups (that sometimes include bits of meat). I make mousses and mix custards.
As you see, I know know what I would do without my blender.
Happy posting and welcome to mylot!
