What do you think the essence of Christmas?

For us Christians, the real essence of this celebration is of course the One whom we considered our Creator and Savior. We believe that we can show our love to Him by simply showing love to other people as well. For us, Christmas is the time of forgiving. It's the time of being reunited with our family, friends and loved one. But somehow, it is also the time to enjoy and have fun; do something very pleasurable such us shopping, eating delicious and special foods, and many other activities. I hope you can have an enjoyable Christmas this year.

For the very simple reason that most of us celebrate one's birthday. Its His birthday, even though we never knew whats His real birth date was. The only problem was, as you have said, children today forgot its true meaning. It is simply because its been commercialized all over the world.

for me it's about being with my family and loved ones, and just that wonderful feeling between you all as you celebrate the return of the Sun.

Give LOVE! Forgive and forget.........LOVE is the greatest gift we can give to anyone.

having essence of Christmas have time for family together with relatives fellow friends.this essence of Christmas is the birth of Jesus Christ,

i dont understand the real essence of christmas.in my mind to treat westen's festivel,i find that many people would welcome this festivel and feel happy this day.so i think that many family can be together to be happy at christmas,including lovers and friends would be together again.i feel that it like chinese spring festivel,this is most important festivel,many people come home and hope to be together with their family.

as my view ,christmas should focus on giving thanks and love to the world ,your family or something like that . all about love .

Christmas is a time for me to look back, re-evaluating what I've done that year, what have I given for others, have I reached my targets and to thank God for all I've got this year and then making plan of what I'm going to do on the nest year as well as praying for a better year ahead.
