I am clearing my leave balance for this year, and today is my last day working in year 2009. I have applied for more than 2 week off, there are altogether 18 days off including weekends. I am so happy now, as I can be really relaxing in the coming days. I don't need to wake up early, don't need to stuck in the traffic jam, don't need to rush for project, don't need to crack my head to think of the solution, etc. And the most important is, I get to see my baby, take care of my baby, have fun with my baby all the time in the coming 18 days!
As it's reaching the end of the year, are you having long vacation too? Do you have any plans for your vacation?
Merry Christmas & Happy New Year!
I am already in a holiday mood~~~
cheerz,

Well I dont start my job until the middle of January so I have all the time in the world off until then! I get to spend time with both of my babies until then! I am looking forward to getting back into work but a bit aprehensive because I havent worked in a while, I was doing the childcare while my partner worked and then she told her work she was pregnant again and they fired her. We have both been looking for a job ever since and that was in Januray this year so it has taken a while!
Hope you enjoy your hoildays and make syure you have a few lazy days! Merry Christmas.

What? Your wife has been fired just because she was pregnant? Isn't it against the labor law in your country? I just can't imagine there are bosses who fire the staff by that.
It's good that you have found a job. Just spend more time with your babies now, you'll surely miss them when you get back to work.
Happy holiday!

Yes there are laws against it but we cannot prove that is why she was fired. Basically she fell pregnant and eft 2 weeks before she gave birth and went back1 and a half months after although she was entitled to 9 months off. She then informed them a few months later she was pregnant again so couldnt do the heavy lifting and then 2 weeks after that they told her she needed to go, they couldnt afford her.

OMG I’m feeling so jealous of you LOL
Right now I’m in a soup both on the home and office front. Piles of season’s greetings cards have to be labeled and dispatched, mails completed and other work coz I wont be coming to office next Monday & Tuesday for personal reasons, so it seems I have to finish my work before the holidays start. On the home front my son’s annual exams start from January 4th so you can well imagine! And then we don’t really have any extended Christmas holiday…since 25th is on Friday, so we’ll just have a extended weekend and then back to work next Monday

Hello my friend kaka135 Ji,
We are on permanent vaccations and need not worry to apply any leave as a retired persons. We always have schedules for the whole year. At present we are enjoying winter in Northern India, where we di not see Sun since 10 days,it is foggy and misty. We burn fire wood and warm our body. Fingers do not work properly as tehy ae always twisted. In March, we will visit our married daughter and her daughter. In April, we will go to conduct hair removal ceremony for our first grand son, andin August, we will go to Visit famous LordShiva shrine 'AMARNATH'. It will involve alltypes of transportation including helicopter.
I am sure you will carry your son all the time and take him in relaions, where he has not so far gone.
May God bless You and have a great time.

That's wonderful - I'm very happy for you! Unfortunately I won't be using any vacation time for the rest of the year, but I've had enough occasional days off that I've been able to finish my Christmas shopping, so I'm all ready for the holidays! I work night shift and different days each week, so for me, I end up having a pretty decent amount of time at home with my family even when I'm working full-time hours. Anyway, I hope you have a great holiday season and get to spend lots of time with your baby!

Hi, Kaka!
When I was still working, December was always the month I have been waiting for to clear my annual leave. Sometimes, I was unable to take a long vacation because of work was piling up especially during peak period. Normally, I would just spend quality time with my family and celebrate Christmas together, having a family gathering with some relatives and friends. A couple of years ago, we went to the island a day after Christmas and had so much fun. Anyway, wish you a blessed Merry Christmas in advance and a prosperous New Year!

Hai kaka135, enjoy well during this vacation. Since tight schedule is again ahead of you, take full rest now, enjoy to the core, the nearness of your child, give your full attention to the baby. Eat well and sleep well. Do not think of office or prijects. Give holidy for those thoughts too.

It is nice to hear that you are having a long vaccation. I also have many days of leave, but I can't take that because the project I work is in a critical situation and the company requires my assistance. My husband is coming down to celebrate Christmas with me and my family. So, I have asked or 10 days of leave and it is sanctioned. There are three holidays coming in between the days of my leave and I will get arou nd 20 days including weekends and holidays.

Damn, I hope my company allowed me to have a leave like yours. When others take December as a relaxing moment at work, mine was the opposite. Year-end deadlines, reports, backlogs and other stuffs need to finished. December is the busiest month of the year for my job. Enjoy your vacation!

you guys are lucky.. This year i am so unlucky that all my team members have already taken long leave starting from Christmas. so i have to come to office as a team lead and process owner. Moreover, my clients are from States so have to go to office in night shift daily.. it is so frustrating
daily going to office and writing codes for 8 long hours..
