I am not a lover of snow either ,spent half the day trying to dig myself out,my son got up and helped me as well,he moaned at me for not getting him up earlier.Three times I tried to wake him up ,cheeky little devil. He has cleared off with his mates to enjoy the snow.He has finished school now so it is good to see him have some fun, instead of constantly studying.I shall not be going out, last time I went out in feb I fell over hurt my pride. So staying put, take care and merry christmas much love susanxxx

I'm glad u are staying in, best thing to do in weather like that. my oldest son use to tell everyone i looked like a penguin when i walked in the snow, lol. I'm so thankful i don't have to get out in bad weather anymore. That is about the only good thing i can think of from being forced to quit work. i'm glad your son is getting a break from school. I hope he enjoys every minute of it snow & all. love & hugs, jo

Damn stuff, as a rule we don't generally get snow in December, due to Mild winters, they do say that it is a sign of a rough winter. Normally our snow comes in February, so this is really bad news. Even more so as I have to drive over to Essex tomorrow from Kent, on the dreaded M25! I am delivering Christmas presents. Normally in dry conditions it takes 2 hours, I think I should take camping gear with me. It's laying thick and fast here and the heavy winds do not help. Already like a blanket everywhere and that's in a couple of hours, imagine what it will be like tomorrow morning. Trouble is in this country we cannot cope, I know they'll grip the roads but I just know the M25 will be at a standstill, providing I can reach it off course. IF it has to snow then the only day it should snow is Christmas Day and that's it!

You take care tomorrow and take a flask and something to eat as well.My husband drives for sainsburys and he will out in his hgv as well. That is the only thing in this country everything will come to a halt.I don't suppose my son will make it to school in the morning as he relys on public transport to travel the six miles. It does look pretty but your right it is a pain in the neck.As I don't work it is not a problem I just sit indoors and worry about everyone getting home safe. Our lights keep dimming, there are reports of thunder and lightening as well ,I have never heard of that before while it snows. Why don't you deliver your christmas presents another day.Take care suzzy

We are supposed to get some snow this evening! It's been very cold here in the Midwest United States but only snowed just a little bit once where I live. It will be nice to see how beautiful it is and that winter has truly arrived.

It is darn hot here in Australia! A lot of folks here spend Christmas at the beach which is kind of weird if you are used to a white Christmas! I have not seen snow for many years, since my family and I moved from Italy to Australia well over thirty years ago. It sounds fantastic where you are, cold maybe but snow would be a lot of fun and there is nothing like a white Festive Season!

It must be really strange to have christmas on the beach nice and warm.I think I would miss the snow if it did not arrive ,all the kids are out playing together it is a real lift for them,as they missed the last day at school because no one can get there. All the kids round here love school.Times have changed if I could get a day off I would be really excited.

It is very cold today with the temperature below zero and two degrees centigrade. Now it is noontime and the temperature is rising to five degrees centigrade. Though it is shining, it is cold outside because of the cold wind.

The snow is about two foot thick around kent.I had to dig my way out this morning, big drifts up the side of my house. The trouble was the spade was in the shed and my son would not get out of bed ,so there I was like scot of the arctic. The old dunkirk spirit rose and off I went.My son did eventually come down stairs to help just as I finished.Kids !Merry Chrismas to you and yours.

The sun was shining today and it got up to 45 degrees. We did have some snow last week and it was cold so we still have some of it on the ground. We may get some snow on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day but they say not to much but at least it will be a white Christmas even if it is over 1 or 2 inches.

Oh,snow is good. I like snow day and everwhere is white. You can feel the pure colour and enjoy snow carvings. If you like you can make a snow person with your child. Do not mind the cold weather, we should go ourside and feel the white scene. Once i climbed the mountain after snowing. No one touch the snow it was very beautiful.

Hi suzzy3, I had just come back from Hokkaido Island. It's the coldest place in the north of Japan. One morning the temperature there was minus 3 degree centigrade. We were so excited to see such severe cold weather that we could never see here in our place. The snowy landscapes were so fascinating We couldn't help but having fun and playing with the snow crazily outside, as well as taking pictures cheerfully
At present I'm back from my winter vacation. Here the weather is rather hot during daytime. The north east monsoon wind brings heavy rain every now and then since the end of November. Therefore the weather would be rather cold during raining day. It is still drizzling outside and the temperature is 27 degree C now. And I feel comfortable only with the ceiling fan on
Take care and happy posting!

Its not doing a whole lot here in Oklahoma in the USA, our weather is pretty mild right now its a little cold, and we may get a chance of snow on Christmas Eve which is not normal for us, we don't ever get snow around Christmas, its been years since we've had a white Christmas.

The weather is pretty cool now that we are in our 'winter' about 75 - 80 degrees F. I don't know what is is in Celsius. Actually, th sun is shining and people are on the beach enjoying themselves. The nights are cooler so I draw up the comforter sometime in the night and I like to do this. I like to look at snow for perhaps 2 days but then it was awful. My memories of childhood winters with coal fires and freezing bedrooms in the U.K. I would hate to go back to that. Have a wonderful Christmas. Haven't been able to respond much these past few weeks but have an hour this afternoon to have a little fun on Mylot.

Hello suzzy3!
I'm in New York City and it has been bitterly cold out here. We haven't really had any snow yet but I almost wish that it would snow because it would probably be warmer.
Our summer was unusually warm and that seems to have led into this very cold winter.
Sometimes it gets a little warmer for a day or two but it doesn't last and we will get 3-5 days of extremely cold weather.
I remember several years of warm weather here in New York but that is definitely over and it's back to heavy coats, boots and scarves.
It's great to hear that your son is enjoying the snow. Were the schools closed due to the snow?

That sounds so hot.We are only used to the high eighties at the most in England. This entire country normally shuts for business when it snows. It is the last day of term tomorrow so my son might just stay at home,if I twist his arm.He could probably make it in but it is getting home ,it is getting dark at about 4pm at the moment and the temperature drops like a stone and it freezes over. His school is such a long way to go.Sound like a right fussy mum but even though he is sixteen I still worry.Don't forget your suncream and wear a hat.
