Black and White Movies

I love the old Black and White movies. I could sit and watch AMC or TCM all day. My favorites are Katherine Hepburn and Bette Davie movies. I also like the musicals with Rita Hayworth, Fred Astaire, Gene Kelly and Frank Sinatra. How about you do you like black and white movies and what are your favorites.

I like old Black and White movies too though i think nowadays the color movies is also very good. I like Charlie Chaplin, the gold rush which is so interest. It's really good.

I am not a big fan of the black and white shows but I will watch them..the only ones that I don't much care for a the western black and whites but I think it is just westerns in general because I don't watch them in color either. I do like I Love Lucy and Katherine Hepburns as well...

even I like black and white movies. Most of hindi movies made in 1960s are black and white. I watch them on star gold channel. I had seen an old movie starring Nutan. It was a very good movie.

I love black and white movies. My favorite classic is by Alfred Hitchcock and is called 'Strangers on a Train'. If you have not seen it, find someone who owns it, buy it, rent it, or watch it online. To this day it is my favorite film of all time, and I think it will be forever. The story is such a good one.

Black and White movies are definitely different, and I absolutely love that 'old' feel that they bring. My favorites are anything with John Wayne. He's a great actor and most of his stuff is pretty interesting.

I enjoy alot of the old black and white movies. I watched "Streetcar named Desire" recently. I couldn't believe I had forgotten how hot Marlon Brando was!

Oh yes he was hot back then. The one actor from back then that I really was crazy about was Cary Grant. Thank you for your response.

Oh sorry that you can't get into it. Its funny I think I prefer the B&W over the color. I feel that back in that era that is when they were really movie stars. Thank you though for you response.

I agree with you they are the best. My favorite thing to do on a Sunday when the weather is lousy outside, is watch the old movies all day. Either on my couch or in bed munching out all day. Love it. Thank you so much for your response.

The black/white films of my generation had a charm of their own.In fact during my childhood there were only black and white movies and color was introduced much later. Unfortunately i do not get the channels showing b& w movies on my cable and so am forced to watch the color ones. Nowadays even the old b/w films are being digitised and dubbed in color so the old world charm is lost.

That is true about the color inhancing that is being done. However, I still find alot of old movies in b&w on AMC or TCM channels. Thank you for your response.

I like old movies like this, too. Those were the good old days, weren't they? I can't think of any favorites right off hand. I wish more movies came on like that these days. There's so much that's not fit to watch any more. I used to get AMC but now that I have dishnetwork, I don't get it any more. I just know that I like "I Love Lucy", "The Andy Griffith Show", "Leave It To Beaver". I get the western channel and I like "The Gene Autry Show", "Maverick". "Cheyenne", etc. I hope you have a Merry Christmas!

They surely were the days. I sometimes wish I lived back then in the 40 and 50's. Oh I'm glad you mention that you don't get AMC anymore because you switched to Dishnetwork. I was thinking of switching to them, now there is no way I will changes. Yes I like all the shows you mentioned too. Thanks for the info.

i watch the old movies too it was on on tonight with barbara stanwict [i can't spell]lol i just love Katherine Hepburn.i love bettydavis movies.i saw Hush Hush sweet charlett and what every happy to baby jane years ago at the drive in movies.did you every go to the drive in?i wished they were still around

That is one thing I would have loved to have done but never had the experience. When I moved away from S.I., New York that is when they get a drive-in theater. I couldn't believe it. Thank you for your response.

Hello lelin1123 this is checkmail and me too watch some of the black and white movies, and also have few as fav.Actually its my mom who used to watch it and i accompanied her.Now even the balck and white movies are avail in color prints by some tech process, and me too enjoy it much.The Black and white movies by Kishore kumar, Raj Kapoor, Ashok kumar, Manoj kumar and many more are really cool stuffs to watch.They are more comedy, romantic, emotional, etc, only the emotional part is not good for me.Anyways enjoy your black and white, movies and Happy Mylotting.

You don't know what you are missing especially the movie "It's a Wonderful Life." You really should sit one day and watch it. It will be on TV during this month more then one time I'm sure. Thanks for responding.

I haven't watched a movie like that in years. I use to watch movies alot but don't much anymore. I'm glad u enjoy them.
