Yes, especially dried bananas and strawberries. I find that they are healthy and are a good alternative to potato chips when I'm writing late. Where my parents live there is a great candy store which also sells homemade dried fruit. I always get some to bring back to Massachusetts with me.

yes umer I do like them but the sugar content is pretty high for a diabetic to handle,so fresh fruits are much better for us. I sometimes use dried fruit to raise my blood sugar when I am running low, but other than that I wish to eat more fresh 'natural fruit. its so good for you and easy to digest too. why mess with dried when you can eat the real fresh fruit?

If you are talking about dry fruits being brought in the market, then I can say that the adequate nutritive contents there are lessen compared to the natural fruits. Technology product of dry fruits underwent series of machines, preservatives and other compositions that if you will read the nutritive value at the back of the label, most of them are substitute foods that tend to meet the taste of the real natural fruits. Machine used although sterile can still contribute to some chemicals added to the said dry fruit. The taste may exactly be or better than the natural fruits but still the natural nutrients are reduced. When you take natural fruits, it is better guaranteed that all nutrients absorbed their are good for the body and the chemicals are not causing toxic substances.

when it comes to dried fruits and nuts,we need to be more cautious and eat them in moderation only because of their high glucide(carbohydrates)content.Above all they should not replace real fruits.Because of their high energy density,no dried fruit or nuts has been treated as one of our recommended 5 daily portions of fruits and vegetables. the term dried fruit refers to dried form of fruit such as grapes(raisins and sultanas),apricots, plums, dates. But it also refers to oily nuts such as walnuts, hazelnuts, peanuts, almonds, pistachios.Generally speaking all these foods are high in fibre. which is the good news but the bad news is they are highly glucidic. which make them a far richer way of calories and oily nuts are very much rich in lipids. All of the good reason for eating them is moderation, particularly when they are salted.

It is convenience to eat dry fruit, while on travel or on journey. Almonds are also good for our brain, but there are some disadvantages. Like high calories. You are correct, But sometime dry fruits worth us more than natural fresh fruits. But one-thing is sure, there is no substitute of fresh fruits. lol

I love dried fruits. Especially pineapple. Pineapple is good for digestion and tastes great. All the extra syrup and sugars in canned fruits is bad for you. So I prefer fresh or dried. I also really like dried apricots.

not at all. Dry fruits are normally made with a lot of sugar, I don't like them. anyway fresh fruit is available all year round thanks to high-tech advancement.
