May seem silly but there are just scoops with plane handles that just scoop, there are scoops with a lever and a medal bar that pushes out the ice cream, there are ice cream scoops with something in the scoop that melts the ice cream a bit to make it easier to scooop what kind do you have or do you just use a big spoon?

I have one of the ones from pampered chef. It was a little pricy, but I will probably never have to buy another one. There is a defrosting liquid inside of it, you shake it a little bit and it dips into the ice cream a little easier. It's one solid metal piece so there s no danger of anything ever leaking out of it.

I have an ice cream scoop that I believe I bought from Tupperware. It is a really neat ice cream scooper that melts the ice cream a little to make it easier to scoop. I am sad because it is getting old and starting to look really bad. I also like the kind with the metal bar that pushes the ice cream out. I think they work well.

I don't even have an ice cream scoop. I use a spoon and end up bending it. But we don't buy that much ice cream. I should buy a scoop though.

I have a couple of them. I have a traditional one that makes small scoops that can go on top of a cone and I have a larger one for when I want a big scoop of ice cream. Sometimes I just use a serving spoon. BTW, my right arm is stronger than my left arm from cranking down into too much ice cream.

old ice cream scoop and spoon - old ice cream scoop and its alternate --- the spoon
Hi, ladym. Ice cream is not an everyday or regular thing for us. We only buy it if we feel like eating or have them on some special occasions. I, for one, have shied away from sweets because of having a little high level of blood sugar. We had one scoop that I bought long ago (lol,) when the children were still small. We had not been using it anymore. When I searched for it, I found that it had gathered rust (this time I am throwing this away). We have always used regular sturdy spoons to scoop our ice cream.

My family has one of those metal ones with the lever that pushes the ice cream out. I don't even know why we have one since we never have ice cream in our house. I guess just to say we have one. That and the pastry icer we never use either..

You did not state which type of ice-cream scoop you have though. Here's a photo of mine. I used to get food etc delivered througfh Schawns Company. They gave me a free ice cream "scoop". It is neat and is my fave of all time. Just like a large flattened out spoon. Check the photo out. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB!!~

I have a pink plastic ice cream scoop and the end of the handle is a pig's head. It takes batteries and when you turn it on it makes "oink-oink" noises. It's very cute and doesn't discourage me from eating my ice cream at all!

Hello ladym33 this is checkmail and often do have some variety of ice-creams, it tastes sweet and good.Mostly when have ice creams outdoors at cafe, use to have it by scoops, but if havign at home, it normally an family pack or homemade used to have it with plastic spoons as well as use knife to cut it in slices.Mostly in ice-creams its preferable to cut the ice creams through knife, as we get more slices and everybody enjoys it with cheer. If am alone then would simply opt for an spoon, but would pull out ice-cream like an scoop does.Anyways Happy mylotting.
