Do You Just Buy the Food You Like or Do You Also Look At the Nutrition Label?

I use to just buy the food I liked at the store but now I'm more outgoing. I now look at the nutrition label to see the amount per serving as well as the amount of protein, carbs, and fat per serving. I want to be sure I'm getting the most for my money rather than just throwing it into the shopping buggy. Do you devote time in doing this or is it a waste of your time.

Sometimes I look at the nutrition labels, but not many times as I almost never buy prepared food. But when I went to the US with my diabetic husband, I read every label. Most of the things I wanted to buy had sugar then. I hope that has changed.

they should have plenty of food specifically for diabetics at stores.

I should have added that it was at a minimarket in a resort. When I went to a big super, they had the same food I see everywhere. But the minimarket was mostly full of donuts and other easy to eat food. All of them are not only bad for diabetics, but for anyone as they make you put on weight without even intending to.

Hi, We always take care of the nutritional value of the food when we prepare food in our house. But when we buy food from outside we buy our favorite food. We buy food from outside very few times so we don't take care about the nutritional contents of the food. Just enjoy the food. But we should be careful about our diet. We should eat balanced diet. It is necessary for our good health.

hi elmiko I do read the labels now as I am both a person with high blood pressure, and I am a diabetic, so must watch sugar content, how much sodium, and has to be low fat also. so it is not a waste of time if it keeps me from eating stuff that shoots up my blood pressure or my blood glucose level.I have to take care of mydiabetes by myself mostly along with the doctor and nurse too.
