Do you believe in God?

I'm not sure if I do or don't! For along time I was debating my views on religion and what I really believe in. Now I'm not sure if I believe in God or there is not one! With all the different opinions on this I am getting confused and don't know what to think anymore! I thought I had this all figured out and now I'm back to square one!

I did Religious Studies at university as my second subject. I find world religion a fascinating subject. When a baby is born he or she will be born in a particular country. He or she might be born to a religious family like a Jewish baby in Israel, a Hindu baby in India and a Catholic baby in Ireland for example. I am not a religious person myself but I respect religious people. There are so many different religions so I don't know which one is correct. I am not sure what I believe regarding God.

I know no religion is the correct one or roght one. I grew up hearing that the religion I grew in was the only one! the perfect relgion and everyother religion was bull! I battled with religion for years and thought I finally had it figured out! Maybe I do and wish I was debating that God excits! I thing I have been listening to much what other people say about God and I'm not going with my heart in what I believe in! Appreciate the response!

Well said maxi. When a baby is born among different religious families, it doesn't know what religion is, it only sees everybody as a reflection of it's own pure mind, and religion is not born yet for it. It only learns later from the prejudiced minds of the family members, and picks up imperfect knowledge about everything, and the one that affects it's growth most is the knowledge of religion. As religion can't be different, and there can't be only one religion and all others false. All religions surely do meet at a common point called universal truth and man fails to see that.

I believe there is a higher power. I do not believe in God as he is relayed to us in the Bible either. I think that perhaps alot of the writings about him are true but not the entire story. Like the story of the Ark. And his relationship to some of the characters. I question alot of it and I question him.

I so agree! I think the bottom line is that you have to go with your heart.

I believe in something although I cannot explain entirely what that is! I don't believe that we appeared out of thin air! I believe that there is some kind of superiour intelligence at work whether you like to refer to it as a God or a spiritual entity or even, and I don't want to offend anyone, a superior alien race that has intelligence that far outweighs our own. Perhaps they have mastered certain aspects of technology including anatomy and we have yet to reach that level of intelligence. These are just theories though. I don't know for sure. I just think that it's virtually impossible that we are alone here, the Universe is so huge, there must be other forms of life out there. I don't know if I am contradicting myself but I do believe that we go on after this life. I think of it as some kind of spiritual dimension. Is it possible that we meet up with our deceased relatives and family members? I'm inclined to believe this. Many people have reported having out of body experiences and I had an experience of my own as a small child! This relates to me having fallen into a swimming pool and then I remember seeing myself for a few seconds, I was outside my body and I didn't feel anything. I was under the water and I could breathe. Does this signify that we can exist outside of the body? I think so. I think that I am just as confused as you in relation to this. This is a very deep and complex subject. Andrew

I believe God exists and knows everything, and in Islam only one god who created the entire universe and everything in it. Humans are the most perfect creature among other creatures, they have a reasonable and also thought, but sometimes they violate what the gods ask. No one can match his greatness, and the only one who can do it.

I truly believe in God. There have been many reasons for my belief but the one that top them all was when my guardian angel spoke to me in my ear telling me I needed to get out of the building. This happened on 9/11 while running down the stairs from the 91st floor of the south tower. Thinking to myself I am not going to be able to get out my guardian angel spoke to me saying "Janet you have to get out of the building". She repeated it at least 3 times. If there was no God there would not be a guardian angel speaking to me either. This is one of many reasons I believe in God.

Hi blue65packer! My parents had different religions. My mom is a Catholic while my dad is a Buddhist. Though both of them has different beliefs, they both taught us about a God or the Kami-sama. The one existing above us all, the Almighty one. I don't question my faith or I not that religious. But I surely do believe in God. Without Him, we are nothing.

God... THE ONE, THE ONE ONLY, The Creator, the sustainer and cherisher of all. He created The whole universes, mankind, animals, vegetation, facility for living in earth, air, water, etc. He is ONE, Self sufficient, Neither born, nor gave birth, none comparable unto him. He is ever living, all powerful, will not get effected by sleep or downsiness, he is all seeing all knowing, all wise, so merciful. Peace.

I quite believing in a god back when I was 13 and I'm 20 now and have constantly stuck by my decision. And its not even that I don't believe in a god, its I think religion is man made and it was only created so therefore people had a way to explain what science couldn't explain centuries ago. And its quite easy to see this. I had to study religion in college and one thing we touched based on was the fact that when religion was first created it was for concrete reasons, i.e. saying this is why there is a thunderstorm, this is who created me, this is how I'm suppose to live my life. Now since modernization has increased the reasons have become more abstract and more spiritual. It's more of a "you gotta believe" society to where you don't need religion to live life anymore. It's just that guidance to an afterlife and something for people to do when they're bored on sundays.

Yes I believe in God. My belief in God is strengthened by the fact that all the right things happen in my life at the right time. Even if at some time I feel sad about life I realize that everything happens with a purpose. I am sure there is some almighty power that makes things happen and guides us towards the right path in our lives. So I believe in God.
