Has anyone ever contested a speeding ticket?

I recently got a speeding ticket driving my boyfriend's car across 3 states coming home after visiting family over Thanksgiving. His car's gas pedal takes less pressure to go the same speed as my car and I honestly just zoned out and did not notice I was going 76 in a 65 zone. I honestly make a conscious effort to avoid speeding to not get a ticket and this is the 2nd one I have gotten ever in my life, with the last one being 12 years ago.
Has anyone ever contested a ticket? Do you recommend doing this, or have any tips? I am considering doing this since this is my 2nd ticket ever and I thought I might have a chance since I just made a mistake by not paying attention to my speed while driving during a 10 hour trip in a car I was unfamiliar with. What do you think?

if you go in saying you weren't paying attention then you might get a ticket for driving without undue care and attention,
you should be in control of your speed thats what the police will say, I think you just need to pay it and make it as a lesson learnt he he he
tho let us know what happens.
