Recently, my service provider had an outage and my line was one of those affected. I could not send a message or call for more than 2 hours. And this is when I realized that I could not live a day without a cellphone. I need to be able to send messages and call people, as part of my job. I made a spontaneous decision to buy a prepaid sim from another network, as back-up number. This made me realize how technologically dependent I am. Is anyone of you like me? Or can you live without all these technology?

Hi the zone: well i would not tell that all cell phones are evil. It's not evil to talk to your mom actually. Lol. XD. But we can lose control when we depend of these tools so we don't use them just for the necessary objectives of their creation. For me, my addiction is the internet service because i am not the kind of person that could talk for ours with their friend or that like to send text messages. Well, thanks for your answer. Have a nice day.

I never faced that problem but i can proudly say that i am not too dependent on any of these technologies coz i am well prepared for all kinds of problems to be faced by these stuff so always i have an better alternative for the critical problem like the one you have faced. If i have some trouble with my Internet service provider then i would be happy that atleast my eyes get some rest and i try to think positively so always i have an alternative for every thing except my girl friend and friends .You werent born with a cellphone in your hands right so people should depend on these to a certain limit coz they are known for their Advantages which make our lives easier but you would blame the same Technology when you have to face some problem which is not so right coz if you love the advantages then you should be prepared for the disadvantages as well.good day.

We have to be mentally prepared for breakdown eventualities which one experiences often in the field of technology. You did the right thing by getting a back up facility which for the kind of job you are handling was a necessary. We hear of lift breakdowns where one gets stuck for hours. The only way to handle these disasters is to take them in our stride and face the consequences. Yes. I do become helpless when such things happen.

Oh! I thought you are about any person. You are right people who use the cell phones can't live without that one. It is different who don't use the cell phone ever. They don't face any problem for not having cell phones. But a person who is using cell phone for a long time, make out of touch of cell phone, I think he will be mad to have this one. It is very important and essential thing now a days.

If that happened to me I'd be just like you! I think it would take me an hour to be like ok how can i find a way to use my phone.
I do think i could live with out a phone or a computer or a gps or a tv but it would take a lot of time to get used to the fact that i could no longer relay on these things.

i can live without all this technology i dont really use my cell phone, i only use it when i need to or when one of my pals ring me up.
T.V is relaxing but we have a nice world out there so i dont really need it, although is it entertaining i find it better going swimming or the gym.

Well, I am also dependent on my mobile phone considering that I need to call people as well as respond to calls. The thing is I am always out of the office and obviously without the mobile phone I cannot be contacted. Many opportunities will pass through if ever I cannot communicate. In my case it is a necessity.

Nice story about you! But I think I Can't live without the Internet and computer. before One month My internet line got server done and allover in my area. But I need to stay front of computer on the day for some special reasons. So I traveled 35 kilo meters to access this computers. I found a browsing center in my near city. Because I living in a small village and only have four to five browsing centers only. that day I spent 6 hours in this center.
And they billed approx of Rs 1,000/- ( near $20 ) for including some print outs.

Maybe I am used to having cellphones since i started having one during my second year college. I can live without my cellphone, but life is hard without it since i cannot have a constant communications with my loved one and it's difficult borrowing cellphones from my friends just to have a text.

You are definitely right we are all dependent technologically. Like me I don't have that big income but I have a postpaid mobile phone for emergency purposes & landline connection with broadband connection. Its one way of communicating with my sibling from another country & not just that I have 3 other prepaid number from different network.

Hi there, I can live life without cellphones or any luxury things on earth. One thing I cannot live is living a life without God. Well I cannot think of any material things that I cannot live without, I guess I can still live without having all material things even in this growing technology world.

I once had to go four days without being able to rely on my cell phone for much of anything. We had lost power and I had to perserve the battery for as long as possible and use the phone in an extreame emegerceny. I felt so out of place and completely restricted. The fact this happened in the summer only made the situation much worse. I had no access to cool air and if the temp riases above a cirtain point I can't literly breathe. Lucky for me George was home and would take me out in the truck from time to time. So I ended up alright.
It was difficult not having the freedom to use my cell phone as I would like, but I got through it. If I think I will lose it permently for one reason or another I think, no I have, gone into panic attacks. Technology is important and I hate to admit it, but yes I depend on it. Being disabled sure doesn't help. It only makes the situation worse.
