Just out of curiosity, what was the longest book you've read? How long was it, what was the title/author, and was it worth it? How long did it take you to read it all?!
I typically grab the slimmest book of the bunch, because I love short books. They're so quick to get through, don't take much of a commitment, and certainly don't take months to read.
The longest book I've probably read...Was probably a Stephen King one a while ago (years) and I can't remember the name to. LOL.
What about you?

I read War and Peace which took a LONG time and it was pretty good, but probably not really worth the effort. I love reading Diana Gabaldon's novels and they are often over 1000 pages long, but are beautifully written and well worth reading. Her first novel (Cross Stitch - Outlander) is my all time favourite novel.

The longest books that I have read are the books by Jean. M. Auel. I have have read "The clan of the cave bear", "The valley of the horses", "The mammoth hunters" and "The plains of passage". I read them many years ago while I was in the 9th or the 10th grade. My friend had read the books and she recommended them. At first I was only planning on reading the first book, but I liked the story and I decided to read the other books as well. I think there is another book by the same author, but I don't remember the title, and I haven't read that one.

"The Stone of Tears" by Terry Goodkind, it was almost 1,000 pages. It took me two weeks and yes it was eventually worth it. I prefer books that are in the range of 300-500 pages. Short books are a breeze and long books get me bogged down and discouraged. However, a good story is a good story no matter how long or short it is. Now the longest time I've ever spent reading a single book was "The Fellowship of the Ring" by Tolkien. I read it for six months. I was still in middle school and wasn't used to reading books so long or so detailed. It was still good in the end, of course. It just took awhile.
