Is Omega3 good for dogs?

Hi, Okay, so earlier I was kissing my dog and all of the sudden I realized that he smelled like the Omega3, fish oil tablets that I take sometimes. So, I looked under the couch and saw an open bottle of it which was already halfway empty. I don't remember it halfway empty because I had just bought that. Anyway, it came to me that my husband earlier in the day accidentally spilled it on the floor and forgot to clean it up. So my dog obviously consumed most of that omega3 fish oil. My question is, is omega3 , fish oil good or bad for dogs? Is it possible that they can overdose from it?
