Will I miss something without Windows 7?

Recently I bought a new laptop which comes with Windows Xp service pack 3.With the advent of Windows 7,am I going to miss anything without it?Well,I surf a lot in the net and manage my accounts and do some animation works as hobby.What will be the disadvantages if I settle with XP itself?

I can't understand what you meant by getting suffocated.Can you be little elaborate your response so that I can get easily what you like to say?I went for the one with XP as windows 7 is just introduced and we don't know all the pros and cons about it.People are so much excited about the vista but it ended fatal.

Do not go for window 7 presently as it eat up
your RAM. XP will be nice for you

Thank god!I don't like to go for windows 7 right now as it is just launched and I have to wait for the feed back.I chose windows xp as it is successful for more years without any trouble.To add,I don't think I can update to windows 7 as I have just 1 GB ram and an atom processor.

Windows 7 is good actually but there is nothing to miss! Windows 7 brings nice graphics and some features like instant search, better organizing of folders.
The main thing you are going to miss is the better resource management, that is Windows 7 uses all cores of the processors efficiently, manages memory really good.
If you are a gamer, then Windows 7 will get you a better version a DirectX. All said, you cannot escape the security popups and viruses.

Thanks for the encouragement.Well,I am not concerned about playing games and so that will not be a problem for me.I am content that I am having an original version of XP at the least now.And I heard that,windows 7 users can switch to xp mode and so I think Microsoft will not abandon xp.Am I right?

You can stick to xp until Microsoft forces you to upgrade! Since you have the Genuine xp..you can consider upgrade purchases!

XP is good... but better is window 7 .. if you can but window 7 now .. then you use winodw7 to get better experience .... else Xp is also good operating system...

vista is a step created by microsoft,making them money,its a bad os.But windows 7 is perfect,it's beautiful,and it can help you manage your files music movie better.I have been using it for months,most bugs has been fixed.But for xp,bugs will be discoverd and won't be fixed by microsoft officially.So make your choice.

I have already bought my laptop with original version of XP.Well,from what you have told,I think I am not going to miss anything for my concerned use.Yet,I have to think about those bugs.Will not be the patch files for update created eventually?I hope that Microsoft will do that.
