Mother Teresa was a great humanist who dedicated her life for the cause of suffering humanity. She was born in Albania on August 2,1910.She completed her school education in a Government School in Yugoslavia. After completing her education she decided to become a nun and so she joined a Roman Catholic Mission which sent her to Kolkata in 1928.While engaged in her Missionary work she was deeply moved by the agonies and miseries of the poor of this country. She started her life in Kolkata as a teacher in a convent school, but soon she realized that the mission of her life should be to dedicate herself to the service of suffering people. So she started an organization,Nirmal Hriday,at Kali ghat which became a shelter for the suffering people.Destitute s,lepers, orphans and even persons dying uncared on the pavements of the city are shelterd there. Mother Teresa led a very simple and modest life. She talked a little but did a lot and the compass of her vision was global. Though she avoided all kinds of publicity,Mother was famous all over the world for her activities. In recognition of her selfless service, she was awarded Nobel peace prize in 1979.She became a bharat Ratna in 1980.Mother was not keeping good health for the last few years. She was suffering from various allments, mainly of heart. On Friday,September 5,1997,the 87-year old nun left for her heavenly abode. The poor, the downtrodden, the destitute s around the world became poorer and orphan.People bade their Mother farewell with tears in their eyes.
I love Mother Teresa because her activities was very good. Are you love Mother Teresa?but why?

Hi Babu,
I admired mother teresa so much. i used to asked for her intercession too same as the relationship i established with the blessed virgin mary. i admire her simplicity. i was able to meet her personally when i was in my teen life. i was one of the catechists who met her when she visited our place. she gave a speech and that was a great experience for all of us whho are present that time.
i am happy to know her birhtday--august 2. it's the same date as my husband. so leo are compatible with virgo. that's why i am close to mother teresa. there is a special bond between me and her.

I really admire her when she became the living saint. She is one of the Saints that I really admire. The one and only living saint and the last one maybe? She has touched a lot of lives and her strong faith was really admirable. I wish I had a chance to meet her but now she is happy together with God.

Yes babu, I totally agree with you...I also admire Mother Teresa for her humitarian way of life. Before, I had a perception of helping people through donations...giving money for the poor and needy. But with her truly extraordinary works of charity and love, I became aware of another unique and simple way on helping other people. She made me realize that it's not thru money alone that we could give...it's through service that we sacrifice and help other individuals. It is amazing but she made the essence of it true in our hearts. I do hope she'll become a saint...Is she ordained as Beloved already? If not I do hope she'll be acknowledged as such and then later on a saint. She is a true blessing for the people around the world. Her way of life should be a true example for everyone to imitate...it promotes love, sacrifice, and peace throughout the world. God Bless her...the world LOVES her dearly.
