Reading books on paper is still widely practiced these days. Not everyone has a computer and certainly not everyone can afford a Kindle. Even here in my city, I still haven't seen anyone using a Kindle although most households have their own computers. Internet cafes are everywhere too, though they're mostly used for gaming. A lot of people still prefers to read a book a paper.

kindle cannot replace a hard book a dedicated book reader only knows how it feel when you see your book case many a times when you touch the pages or turn the pages at least i enjoy it a lot i have tried to read many e books but after 10 to 15 pages just gave up and bought a hard copy and satisfied my thirst.

I think the Kindle, and other eBook readers, already has taken the place of traditional paper reading to a certain extent. If eBooks' DRM (Digital Rights Management) could ever be worked out so that eBooks were as easy to sell, donate, loan and trade as regular books, and if publishers passed their savings in production costs to their customers by lowering their prices, and if the price of the eBook readers themselves became inexpensive, I think that so many people would be reading books on Kindle-like devices that publishing books on paper would no longer be cost effective. Schools are already toying with the idea of using eBook textbooks. Once that happens, I think the switchover from books will happen fairly quickly -- within a decade or two.

Not for me. I love everything about books. I love how they feel in my hands. I love the smell of them and how the paper feels in my hands. I like to take my time with them and I savor every word on the written page.

I don't like kindle or e-books for several reasons. First of all, I like the good old-fashion paper books. I like having something tangible in my hands, and I like watching the pages fly by. Second of all, and most importantly, I often go to read when technology is failing me. The computer can get as many viruses and hardware problems as it pleases, because I have a book to retreat to. Books will not go techno crazy on me! This is the main reason I resent e-books because should there ever be a day where my book can CRASH... I'm not going to be too happy.

I do not think that any kind of electronic reading will take the place of paper books. The reason is that I know that there are many people like me. I had to get glasses this year because I spent so much time at a computer. The screens are basically the same. I can read a book for hours and my eyes never hurt but I cannot look at a computer or any other electronic screen for more than 30 minutes without taking a break, it gives me a head ache. So if only for health reasons, these things are cool but there will always be paper books.
