Horrible day! 3-0??? never imagined that would be happen.
I have some analysis below
1. Lack of defender and wrong tactics!
As we know, United is on injury crisis. They don't have any center back available! Well, even Carrick and Fletcher play well on defender position, they are not a natural defender. Their weakness can be spotted easily. Credits to Fulham for exploiting these weaknesses greatly. And also, United forced to play with 3-5-2 formation until they conceded 2nd goal. Come on, what's the hell with that?? de Laet certainly can't cope with Bobby Zamora well, therefore Evra should be play at Left back to help. I don't really know what is in Sir Alex minds at that moment.
2. Under-form Player is not replaced??
Scholesy scholesy. Again, play very very very bad. Lack of awareness, lack of passing accuracy, not to mention early yellow card for him. And he is still not replaced on second half?? Anderson?? Nearly the same, but we don't really have much option. It is good to see him still in full energy, running, and tackling. But substituting Scholes with Park Ji Sung might be better on 2nd half.
3. Zamora is on fire!
Never seen Zamora like this. He maybe helped because of no strong United defenders are marking him. But still, this guy really troublesome. He used his physical advantage very well against Ritchie de Laet and Michael Carrick.
4. Poor Referee??
Well, I don't want to accuse the referee, but it is clear that Fulham players are went down easily + we should have several free kick through foul play and hands ball. But what to say now? *sigh*
I really do hope that they will switch to 4-4-2 formation in 2nd half with PJS replacing under-form Paul Scholes. Park on Left flank and Valencia on Right flank certainly will give extra attacking boost to United. But again, I don't really know what is in Sir Alex heads at that moment!
For next match, I hope United player are returning from Injury. Especially in defender position. And ref?? please, we can see that many United player are injured because the enemy foul them badly. Can't you do something about that??
Horrible day. But I am still Manchester United Fans!
Viva Manchester United!

I think these are dangerous times for United. Chelsea has slipped a couple of times, but United have not been able to take advantage. Instead now they are in danger of slipping behind Arsenal to third place. I think Sir Alex is hoping for the January window to come sooner!!
Cheers!

Yeah. I never know United on crisis like this! Come on, 7 defender?? We missed Rio, O'Shea, Evans, Vidic, Browns, Neville, Rafael?? And the bitter thing is, our on-loan defender also injured. What the hell is going on actually?
I hope United will bring extra defender on winter transfer window.

Arsenal got lucky! Nasri should be red carder at that time :(
Well, lucky that Chelsea got 1-1 draw result so the margin is not bigger as pundits expected.
Cheers!

Wow, now that is some analysis. Some of the points you've made are quite valid as well. But as far as Sir Alex and his tactics are concerned, I still woudn't want to question them. 3-5-2 was an experiment which didn't work. He's tried a few different things in the past. Some have worked, some haven't. Can't do anything about it.
Coming to the match, I really don't think there's much to discuss. Defenders need to get back onto the pitch. We can't expect our midfield to do the job for us everytime. Hopefully, Vidic will be back by next week. The biggest problem we have is that our in form midfielder Darren Fletcher is playing out of position and is visibly not enjoying it. He's become a dominant force in our midfield and the team is definitely missing him there. If vidic and rafael are fit by next week, he should be brought back into the midfield.
Also, I totally agree with point that Scholes should have been substituted. Infact, when I saw Fabio ready to come on, I was praying for Scholes to go off. Fabio could have gone right back and fletch in midfield. With all these problems in the line up, Owen hardly seemed to get any service. He seemed anonymous throughtout. In a way, a player wasted on the pitch along with Valencia who didn't seem to get the ball much.
But I still see hope. Infact, as I'm typing this, West Ham have gone into the break with a 1-0 lead over Chelsea. Hopefully they'll do us a favour tonight. And even if they don't, we're only 6 points off the pace with another 5 months left in the league. We've chased down bigger leads than this in the earlier seasons. Time to get behing the lads. Go United.

Well, I'm actually eagerly waiting for the African Nations Cup to start. Though Arsenal aren't of any concern right now, I hope Chelsea suffer from loss of key players. The only problem is that they do not have any big matches during this period. Adding to it, I'd be stunned if Carlo didn't go into the market in January with their transfer ban being temporarily lifted. I just hope the players don't gel quickly and Chelsea drop a few points. Also, we play them at Old Trafford for the return fixture. A win in that match and we could be on our way to an unprecedented 19th. Is Anfield listening??

Actually sir Alex have tried 3-5-2 formation against Wolfsburg. But at that moment, he still have Nemanja Vidic on the squad! Valencia is not like Cristiano Ronaldo at all. Valencia is strong when he gave some space! compared it to Cristiano Ronaldo, he is terrific when he pressed by one or two enemies (not 3!) because at the time when he is pressed, he can do his mighty foot-trick and WHOOPS! Enemies are confused enough to bring another player some space. I hope other player can help Valencia to draw out enemies from him so he can create some attack down the right flank.
And thanks to Zola's squad, they're able to hold Chelsea on 1-1 draw. So, it's 4 point margin now. Lets hope that African Cup next January-February will bring some change to Chelsea and Arsenal gameplay as they lost some player like Essien, Drogba, Diaby, Eboue, Sagna, John Obi Mikel, etc, which proven to be vital player on the team.
Viva United!

A big gap an the top of the table already and Chelsea have a game in hand. This is going to be a tough ride here on for Manchester United from here on.Unless Chelsea play equally poorly United have handed the title to them on a platter.

Yes! It's great to see that Chelsea also play poorly after they beat United. 1-1 draw means only 4 points gap.
Cheers!
