Here in Virginia we have a snow storm that the weather forecasters are calling the Storm of the Decade. we have about 18 inches of snow. we usually get about six inches all winter, so this is really something different. How is the weather where you are? What is the worst sno storm yhou have eve been in?

It is snowing here but nothing like you are getting.
The worst snow I can remember was the blizzard we had in '79'. The snow was drifted so high that we could get on the roof of our house from one of them and it was about two weeks before some people could even get out and about.

It was actually pretty cool. I enjoyed in growing up, but it was not nice getting snow in your boots and stuff like that. That part was quite annoying.

I'm up in Pennsylvania, so right now I'm getting the same snow that you are. We usually get more than 6 inches, but the last few winters have been pretty mild. I don't remember the last time we got this much snow. I'm not sure what we are up to right now, but at 10:30 this morning we had 7 inches. It has been snowing since then, so I'm going to guess we have 9 or 10 inches now. The last time I saw the weather they were calling for 8-12 depending where you lived around this area.

We are hoping for no school tomorrow! I do need the kids to be in school so I can wrap presents!!!
According to weather people, it is suppose to melt a little each day and then refreeze - it should be an interesting couple of days with school.

You probably will at least have a school delay. it seems like around here that most things are being delayed by like two hours.

Erie usually has a lot of snow but my mother lives there and she said that they have very little now. It is pretty darn ironic. I am looking out at a winter wonderland right now. It is beautiful and mystical in it's own way.

We had a few inches this morning...but I have also been following your storm as my daughter lives in New York....it does look like you had the storm of the decade! The last storm I was in was back in 1991 and we had an ice storm and were without lights etc for about four days....

Hi snowy22315. The weather where we are at is fair and cold. It rained almost all day yesterday. We have not had any snow so far. I would not be surprised if we get some on Christmas Day or right before this day. I have never seen a snow storm in my time. But my aunts told me that many years ago this town had a bad blizzard. I just was not born during this time. We don't really have any bad storms in this town as often. Hurricane Hugo, struck this town almost 18 years ago. Ever since then, the weather has been storm normal. I hope that the snow subsides, so that you all won't get stuck. Stay safe! And stay warm!

Thanks cream. How are things with you nowadays? I haven't seen any of your posts for awhile. I have thought about you periodically. I know you were going through some tough stuff about a year or two ago. I hope you are in a better place now. Peace! snow. Obviously I have a thing for snow.

That sounds fun, if you are a snowman, but I don't think you are, maybe you will be after its all over. The weather here is 65 degrees, I'm wearing shorts, don't hate me. The worst one I've been in was in Oklahoma a few years ago, ice on the roads with snow covering it, I don't miss crappy weather at all. I feel for you.

Last year, we wre driving thru Arkanansas and Misouri and then southern illinois we were driving through a major storm. It is one thing to watch through it, but to drive through something is an experience. Thanks for commenting gitfiddle.

The last blizzard in northern VA was in Northern VA was 1996 So much for global warming I hope I can sell my 9hp snow blower for $629 We have more than 12inches and metro canceled above ground and I expect us government to be closed monday.. Nothing is moving and I expect business to be mostly closed for a week. The outdoor cats want to be indoor cats. My visiting small brown dog called beau refused to go out the bak door so I put him on a leash and walk him out front.Neither the Washington post or the wall street journal or us mail came. Generally I think things are going to closed for a while

I'm in Joppa, MD and we have about 20 inches of snow. I love it!!!!!
I remember the February 2003 blizzard, there was one in February 1983 - I remember this because it was during Valentine's Day weekend, my birthday is 2/15.
I still love it that it is not even officially winter, until tomorrow.
