Does anyone else here find it as excruciatingly funny as I do that, every time the Church of Global Warming has one of its high holy days (this time it's being celebrated in Copenhagen), God tosses a blizzard out? I mean, this morning I saw on pictures on the news of outdoor cafe tables in New York City that looked like white mushrooms, as they ere piled with 8 to 12 inches of snow, & it is still falling!
When will these deniers of reality wake up? Hel-LO-ooo? We're in a cooling period, you guys! Have been for years! This ain't rocket surgery--buy some woolly long-johns!

Hi Mags, No matter how its happening the weather is changing and here in Greece we are moving from 4 seasons to 2 seasons without doubt, spring and autumn are disappearing and the other 2 seasons are getting longer and more severe.
I really don't see your point though that you need to bring analogies to religion into it at all. Like the state, religion should be left out of everything except religion.

Well, you've got the wrong idea about the so-called "separation of Church & State." That's no surprise, given that it's a common mistake a lot of people make, which is encouraged by the anti-Western Socialists, as they get money & power from its promulgation.
The fact is, that's not Constitutional at all, nor did the Founders ever intend the 2 to be totally separate. In fact, what they aimed for was total freedom of religion, not restricted in any way by the State, yet fully able to inform & guide the state.
Religion, with those who take it seriously (& most Americans do, to one degree or another) is a 24/7 thing. We don't segregate it from work, school, or politics, because we know it's too important to bow to those.
If it's warmer for now in Greece, it certainly isn't so here (or in some other places). These are merely natural cycles. It's happened countless times, so don't be afraid. It will be cooler for you again, just as the blizzards here will eventually go away. We still have 4 well-defined seasons, as do other places, now, & we, too, have had times (decades ago) when the year seemed to only have two--yet the rest of the world didn't. You can't judge the entire planet on just your country.
Then, too, since it has now been proven that there are "scientists" who are prepared to lie, hide, destroy & falsify data, & even bully scientists whose studies contradict their false data--even to threatening them & their families' lives--there just is no reason to get "all wee-wee'd up," as Obama put it (), over the matter of weather.

Undoubtedly, some do. Germany certainly did while it was locked behind the wall, & they didn't clean it up, as we do.
You might not approve of it, hun, but Christians (among others) are religious in all points of life. We don't lock it up in a building that we open up once or twice a week. "The Church" has always meant the people. God is in our lives at all times, all places, & all our thoughts & deeds. We couldn't segregate Him even if we wanted to--which we don't.

I wasn't speaking of just the US Mags, I don't approve of religion being brought into other subjects apart from religion. And we're not having a warm spell here we're having winter when it really shouldn't be. It's not just Greece which is seeing climate changes much more severe but it is definitely happening. I'm not on either side of which set of scientists is right or wrong, but I do think some countries waste far too much energy.

........Hi there Maggiepie, First can we separate the politicians from the information in the global warming issue. Just happens that Al Gore, who is a politician took it upon himself to try to sound an alarm for something he believes is destroying our planet. Now then, there are seemingly sound arguements on both sides of the issue, but this one thing for sure, a time line has been given of about ten years for some change to take place to try to solve this or?....guess what, ten years is around the corner...so if those who don't believe that we are in a bad stage of what ever is going on and continue to debunke it and nothing gets done, then we will be here, at least some of us :o), to see what has happened in ten years. I think we should have started some ten or twenty years ago to try to reduce emmissions, but here we are. The water that is drying up down south is real, they are fighting over water rights in two states because there will not be enough to go around. Alaska is melting away as we speak. The ice caps are gone or going. Species of fish are dying down in the Gulf of Mexico, the stench is so bad the people can hardly stand it, dying because of lack of oxygen in the water and in other places as well. We are running out of water across the US, research it, not much is being said loudly, but this is a real problem, what is causing it, debates ensue. One can make jokes if you wish, but as I memtioned, ten years is no time at all. So we shall see whst we shall see. Everybody take care. We are all on this planet together, for better or for worse.

Well said artistry. And if we look beyond what is happening at home I think that the water shortage across the globe will be a huge problem in the not too distant future. The creationist highlighted it months ago with his very worrying discussion about having to sell blood in India in exchange for a bottle of water in the areas where the shortages had become so severe that rioting ensued. There will be movement away from areas like that as people have a right to water, even if it is other peoples water.

Actually, it seems to many of us--myself included--that Al Gore does NOT, in fact, take his own teachings seriously, since he is a huge energy user! If he really believed that 3 years from now we're all going to be fried, he'd be doing everything in his power to cut back severely on his use of energy--but he's not.
Furthermore, those "deadlines" keep moving further & further into the future...conveniently... The "10 years" actually started some time back, & Gore thinks only 3 or so are left. Yet the sea level is still the same.
As a matter of fact, we did start cleaning things up decades ago. Look at the difference between our country's clean air & water, compared to East Germany's acid rained forests, blackened & shriveled. We've been using & creating new & improved technology to clean & keep clean our environment. Remove that technology (which such disastrous things as the infamous "Kyoto Treaty would do), & we'd be in the same shape the Soviets left E. Germany.
The ice caps, contrary to popular myth, according to satellite photos & meteorologists, are not melting, but in fact growing! And polar bears, by the way, are getting out of control, & may soon be hunted to thin them out!
Water levels come & go, but there is a cycle. It may desert one region, but it never leaves the earth. The aquifers across America are always being drained; this isn't new. I recall reading about this ongoing dilemma as a teen (I'll be 62 in a week or so). The water will only crop up elsewhere. And there must be a particular amount of oxygen in water to make it stay water, or it would dissipate into its separate gasses! So I'm sure the fish there are dying, but it can't be for lack of oxygen--not in a constantly-refreshed ocean! Someone is pushing a bill of goods on you!
Yes, we are all on this planet. So are our interlocked economies, & I don't want to see them destroyed for a hoax.

Yes, on the radio the other morning, they were talking about the global cooling trend that is going on. I don't think anyone has a clue!

Oh, I'm certain the high priests & priestesses of the Church of Global Warming & Climate Change--those "scientists----have plenty of clues. They actually erased thousands of emails which proved that they knew full well there was GW/CC in the Medieval days! They knew that if folks got wind of that news, there'd be no way they'd swallow the expensive, power-grabbing attempts to make people buy into it being caused by us! No, it's evident they lied, & knew full well they were hiding facts.

Here in Texas, there are two sayings. The first is: "If you don't like the weather, wait five minutes." And the other is: "If you don't like the weather, walk down the block!"
Both of which underline a basic fact of life: weather changes. Why else would they need to report on it?

What a delicious joke!
Yes, it's all over TV what it looks like up North. My favorite picture was the one I mentioned, of the sidewalk cafe tables looking like white mushrooms, with so much snow piled on their flat tops! Or maybe it was the film clip of the dad burying first one 5 or 6 year old son, then, as that kid burst from the snow, laughing, he would bury the other (slightly younger) son. Then back to the first to re-bury him...it looked like a great game they were having!
Maybe a few Northerners are standing in line to get the answer the Eskimos asked for?

Don't they, though? They remind me of the 2-year old mom catches with a fist full of cookies in the cookie jar, looking at her with a big-eyed expression of innocence, saying, "No, Mommy, I wasn't trying to steal any cookies!"
They think if they just keep denying there's science to disprove their phony data long enough, loud enough, & looking innocent enough, that we'll just believe them!
As if!

Hiya maggiepie,
Welcome to Sunny Spain lol. Right now the weather clock has gone back in time and brought us back the winter weather we were having some ten years ago.
It has snowed again during the night and left everything pure and white.
People here like to go Skiing a lot but not to have to walk on the Pavements when it´s like glass.
For the Pedestrians trying to cross the main Road is to take a big risk as there are so many icy patches.

GREAT POST, dear Maggiepie! As I mentioned in other discussions, my grandchild and I just finished a 3rd grade science unit on ancient ecosystems which documents the fact of global cooling. But, just like our "government" ignores us, truth and God, these Copenhagen goons will continue the same, wallowing in deception and greed while they hasten the end of days. God is sooooo wonderful, yet they continue to deny, ignore, and mock Him, He who IS Truth. If it weren't so sad, it would, as you note, be funny. Anyway, God will have the last laugh.
