Maybe you don't know but girls do rest at restroom. They go to cubicle and just rest and stay there without doing anything but to just to rest.
And another interpretation (from my professor) is when you finish using the restroom you can finally feel at ease after releasing your wastes. It sounds more pleasing than saying toilet or crap room right? :D

Have you ever been in a really fancy restroom where they have chairs and couches? I have. It's pretty fantastic when you're frazzled to sit down for a minute to rest where there are less people. You should try it out sometimes.

boyetski well in our American homes we call them bathrooms as we usually have a shower or tub or both in the r oom with the toilets. out in public they are called rest rooms as usually people do relax a bit while they do their business. I don't think that toilets would go over very well with the American public so lets leave restrooms alone okay? Crap room is being rather vulgar and who needs more vulgarity? so just let it be restrooms. some countries call them comfort rooms, does that sound better to you?

The term Restroom is frequently used by girls but it's common name is comfort room (CR). Based on what I have known it is called that way because when you go to that place it is where your relieved or placed to rest all the disturbances in your body that needs to be comfortable especially taking away our bodies waste products then cleaning stuffs for your body to be looking fresh and clean (comfortable and no worries) again inside and out. Like when your bladder is full and need to pee your disturbed and restless but once you go to the restroom or comfort room your already relieved and your not feeling restless anymore.
